Ted Turner was on with Piers Morgan last night.
He said, “I think it’s good U.S. troops are killing themselves.”

CNN posted the transcript:
TURNER: It’s time to put war and conflict behind us and move on, and start acting like civilized, educated human beings.
MORGAN: You made the point to me in the break there, more American servicemen have –
TURNER: — are dying now from suicide over there than are dying in combat.
MORGAN: That’s shocking, isn’t it?
TURNER: Well, what — no, I think it’s — I think it’s good, because it’s so clear that we’re programmed and we’re born to love and help each other, not to kill each other, to destroy each other. That’s an aberration. That’s left over from hundreds of years ago. It’s time for to us start acting enlightened.
You always hear stuff like this come from the mouths of people who neither respect nor understand the need to defend yourself. They live in a bullish**t utopian world, where everyone is as smart, generous and kind as they are, and the only need for self-defense is desired by chest-thumping/testosterone-soaked primitives who can only feel empowered by the ability to destroy people and things.
THAT is their world view.
And the "primitives" they deride as stupid and uncivilized keep their mouths shut and let them get away with it.
And that is the way it stays until (place the name of your favorite dictator here; Hitler, Pol Pot, King George, you name it) shows up with a gun to their heads and a hobnailed boot on their necks.
Then they cry for salvation, both to God who they formerly had no use for, and to their fellow man, who they had no need of until now. Funny how that happens.
And, like WWII, the ones who went out and did the fighting and dying to protect the pussies who had the boot on their neck, were later ridiculed and viewed with contempt by those same people once they felt safe again.
Worse, those SAME people would then have hearings to determine why we were so caught off guard and unprepared.
These people, like Ted Turner, MAKE ME WANT TO PUKE.
This is one of the few times in my life that I am speechless. I really don’t know how to respond to this.
The video is worse than the transcript. He almost says “I think it’s terrific” before he stops himself.
He’d better hope he never runs into a service member or veteran in an airport or on the street, unless he has a whole platoon of bodyguards, which I doubt.

I’m so glad I saw this. Thank you Ted Turner. I’ve said and done some really stupid things in my life but now Ted has made me look like a freaking genius. Nothing like setting a record for STOOPID.

Old Ted lives in La-La land where the realities of life are trumped by lavender skies, loving unicorns with bows in their hair, and idiots singing coke cola songs while holding hands. CNN is his brain child - have you noticed how well their doing now that they have competition? CNN's last in everything, right? So is Ted.
