This is a good summary of Democratic miscalculation. The line working under the assumption that 2008 was a “transformational election” and not a giant, hysterical fluke makes sense.

They thought that 2008 reflected a permanent shift. Fortunately, major shifts don't happen that quickly. 2008 may go down as a turning point, but the ship is still right of center.

If Romney doesn’t pick/position West for higher office, it’ll be a serious mistake. SOD works for me, I don’t see him as SOS and that’s not a negative, doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work. I just hope Romney does the right thing with West because West’s a potential Superstar.
