The FBI has launched an investigation in Florida after hearing that a number of people in the state received letters claiming they are ineligible to vote. The official-looking letters falsely tell people that their citizenship status is in question. While the letters appear to come from county supervisors in Florida, they are postmarked from the Seattle area.
"You must complete the attached Voter Eligibility Form and return it to the Supervisor of Elections Office within 15 days of receipt. Failure to submit this form within fifteen (15) days will result in the removal of your name from the voter registration rolls and you will no longer be eligible to vote. A non registered voter who casts a vote in the State of Florida may be subject to arrest, imprisonment, and/or other criminal sanctions," says the letter.
It is signed from Jerry Holland, the Duval County supervisor of elections, but he did not send them.
"The letterhead has a flag and an eagle in the top left corner of the letter and appears to be from Jerry Holland Supervisor of Elections but is not," reads a statement from the Deputy Supervisor of Elections.

Anyone see a problem with this next-to-last paragraph in the article?
Probably sent out by Democrat operatives. An Alinsky tactic, I expect.
Further, if comments about citizenship and eligibility make you worry about whether or not you're allowed to vote, you probably shouldn't be voting. IMHO.
Big problem - if it’s anything like before and Obama loses that state - he’ll take it to court to stall the turn over...of course - they 2 months to work it out...
I think Romney is going to win the Center this time around...and it may not matter in the end...
Obama looks like he knows he’s about to get kicked off the ride of his life...and I’m sure Michelle will go out screaming!
The Obama campaign released a video on Wednesday referencing the 2004 vote recount in Florida and urging people to vote even if they think their vote won't matter.
There's a significant error in that paragraph. The reporter should be ashamed.
If this was a bulk mailing there would be registration info gathered by the PO. Even if the letters where put in the mail stream without going through bulk mail the post office puts ID tags on the backs of letters that ID the machine, time of day, etc. for the place where the letters where processed. If a business produced the letters, the letter head may lead to the printer. If produced in a home on laser or inkjet there is a chance that there will be micro-printing from the printer that would provide more info. If the FBI has already determined Seattle area and they really are pursuing this there may be enough evidence to find these folks.
I have such little faith in Holder and Obama that it is depressing.
I hear you but look at it this way, Holder has shown us how little we actually need a DOJ.
Romney Agenda, Day One: overturn 0bamacare.
Day Two: Clean house at DOJ
Day Three: Eliminate Voter Fraud
I could be persuaded to swap day 2 and day 3.
Phishing?
Oh I see it — when I read that — I thought to myself - I can’t believe that sentence made it in there — it reminds me of the last days of WW II on the Nazi side, reading through their field operational notes from commanders...it’s like a last ditch effort and they don’t hide the fact that it is over for them...stunning, to say the least! “Let’s cause havoc - for one last time!”
