Four years ago, David Axelrod was exuberantly riding the Obama wave. Today, the poor guy sounds decidedly down in the dumps. Check out this line from an email he sent to people on the Obama campaign list: "I don't know how this is going to end. But no matter what, I know each of us will have given this campaign everything we've got."

Yikes! Take two Prozac and call me in the morning if you're still trailing by five in the Gallup poll!

how quickly we forget ~ does Anna Chapman ring any bells? For many decades the KGB operated a program to place sleeper agents inside the US and other western countries. Every now and then they'd activate an agent to do some special work.

Fidel Castro needed their support back in the Elian kidnapping. He probably thought of Lee Harvey Oswald as being such an agent, albeit not all that deeply imbedded.

Awwwwwww, David, don’t take it so hard. You should feel good knowing that communism and socialism have failed wherever they’ve been tried. I mean you’ve put up a valiant effort, but you should have realized that trying the same failing thing over and over and expecting a different result each time is the classic definition of insanity. You should feel good though, that having failed you are in the same company as Stalin, Hitler, Lenin, and many more. In fact your mustache actually reminds me of one of them. I won’t say which.
