Union: Goodyear to trim 200 jobs in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE — A union official says the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plant in Fayetteville is eliminating about 200 positions and will be offering workers buyouts.

The president of the local steelworkers union, Darryl Jackson, says the union will vote this week on changing a labor contract to allow the buyouts. Johnson says if the buyouts are not approved, the company will lay off 200 people by the end of next month.

The plant employs almost 2,800 people.

a_c, you have to stop posting these lies! We all know Obama and Biden have fixed all of America’s problems, right? Everything is hunky-dory, A-O.K., copasetic, and all that good stuff.

I guess zero putting an end to all those cheap Chinese tires (you know. the ones we could afford?) was not able to put union heavy goodyear back in the black.
