Exactly, remember the Somali pirates with the American hostage on their boat? The hostage had the guts to jump ship and swim while in clear sight of the military and an order not to engage prevented his rescue. Only after a huge backlash did Obama give the go ahead to fire on the pirates. Of course, this was portrayed as a heroic decision by Obama just like his decision to get Osama. With the decision to kill Osama he took 9 months to make what was arguably the easiest military decision any president has ever had to make.
A risk averse narcissist can only make decisions based on his own possible liability for failure vs. the accolades he may receive. Nothing else enters into the equation. In this case, it was too much risk right before an election and he was arrogant enough to think he could just divert attention with a scapegoat and the media would go right along. Instead, the media would focus on Romney’s comments about the protests in Egypt, knowing full well that he made them before he could have possibly known about the events in Libya. Obama was almost right, my belief is that throwing Hillary under the bus was his downfall.
I have to wonder how much pain it has ultimately caused Obama and his ultra-liberal gang when they had to kill Muslim “freedom fighters” like the pirates and Osama ? These are the type of people that equate terrorists to our revolutionary war heros.

Presuming there is no smoking permitted in the WH situation room, my guess is he bugged out for a couple of Newports during the 5PM meeting while one of the harpies* directed forces NOT to respond.

His 4 vs. 3 star retirement could be used for some leverage, maybe they are playing on his PTSD history - of course the Arkansas/Chicago way goes much further in matters of persuasion.
Too many people know what really happened at this point for it to stay under wraps forever - WH damage control must be working 24x7 to close potential leaks for the next 10 days. Some inside the MSM have to be having their eyes opened at just how far they are going to carry his water.
This entire mess crystallizes this administration. Captures everything they are and everything they do. This will be their legacy.

a President who is so COLD BLOODED AND VILE like none we have ever seen before.
This sadly is my theory on the matter. I'm not certain if gun running was involved, or perhaps it was some other governning dynamic, but I believe him being cold blooded and vile is accurate no matter what other circumstances exist.
For four years now, I have thought that this man is the Devil. Certainly some disagree for varying reasons, not smart enough, not competent enough and so forth. But he is most certainly evil enough. Whatever this man has where others have souls, it is from Hell, and my fear is that regardless of the upcoming election results, he will not go easily, he will not go at all, he would take us all with him first.
