Sudan's Information Minister, Ahmed Bilal Osman, has warned that his country would take "resolute steps" against Israeli interests following the bombing of an ammunitions factory in Sudan's capital, Khartoum.
Osman told the BBC that his country now sees Israeli interests as legitimate targets for attack. He said that Sudan possesses proof that Israel is behind the attack on the Yarmouk weapons factory, and said that experts who combed the location of the blast sound evidence that Israeli arms were used to destroy it.
Australia's ABC News quoted the minister as saying: "We have to reply because this is too much. This is the fourth time they have done this." Osman was referring to an incident in May, in which one person was killed after a car exploded in the eastern city of Port Sudan, as well as a similar blast last year that was blamed on an Israeli missile strike, and a fourth incident in eastern Sudan in 2009, when a convoy was bombed.
"Definitely we are not going to attack Israel there," he added, "but we have the means, we have the means of how we can reply. They killed our people, these things are not cheap and we know how to retaliate."
