I would be careful with that claim. The only source that I can find for it is one Democrat congressman, who may very well be the one lying.

Oh, please. Katherine Herridge of FOX reported Petraeus blamed the video during the hearing and the subsequent events simply “prove out” that he did.

To wit:

When (about two weeks after Petraeus testified) the video lie unraveled, the first tactic of the Administration was to claim that they had been given “bad intelligence” about Benghazi.

They could only even ATTEMPT to peddle this garbage by having laid a covering fire of appropriate lies that were nonetheless “classified”—including the hearing.

In fact, if you go back, for the two weeks following Petraeus’s testimony, it was taken as a given inside the Beltway and in Republican circles that a video caused a spontaneous riot—or that such could not really be challenged in any case.

Then came the pure physical evidence, the contradicting testimony of the Libyan president, and the willingness of FOX News to pursue the story , all of which undid the video lie. And then simple common sense undid the “bad intelligence” lie.

Obama’s hire of Petraeus was a contract among kindred spirits, both of them of the Arabist persuasion in Washington.

Petraeus’s usefulness (an an “idiot”) to Obama was that he had credibility in RINO circles. That worked for a week or two but the lie was just too flimsy in the face of physical evidence.

Petraeus is a member of the Obama Administration. Obama does not “reach across the aisle” for his hired help. Those two are on the same page when it comes to the Arabs.

You could be right. But I just can’t help but think that if the ambassador was alive enough for the terror types to trade for the blind sheik after they got through with him doing what they do, they would still have kept him and traded him.

My guess is he was dead or they thought he was dead. We many never know.

Obama would not have cared about getting the blind sheik back. He would have cared about a massive media distraction in which he was in a stare-down with al Qaeda regarding the ambassador and the blind sheik.

Once he got past election day, he wouldn’t have cared how it all came out. Make the trade, don’t make the trade, dead ambassador, whatever.... If he’s re-elected then the op worked out.

Bolsheviks like Obama or Stalin for that matter care about two things: power and privilege. They act on behalf of each or one or the other. The jihad is useful to Obama as it was to Andropov when he paid the Brotherhood to kill Sadat.

New century, shame sh*t.

As a result, Mr. Panetta said, he and two top commanders “felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation.” The commanders are Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gen. Carter F. Ham of Africa Command, which oversees American military operations in Africa, including Libya. You probably have seen similar clips on TV. The impression being given by Mr. Panetta is that the three of them agreed upon the course of action. Not how it works in the military. The junior person present gives his views, the next junior, his, and so on up the line until the senior person, in this case Mr. Panetta, makes the decision. It is not a vote and there is only one person with a veto, the senior person, Mr. Panetta. Of course, he could have had marching orders from higher up in the chain of command. Note also that the NYT piece, written eight days after Mr. Panetta’s announcement, makes no mention of General Ham being replaced as commander of U.S. Africa Command. Is it not relevant?

So, then, would any of this “concern” about putting forces in play as it was discussed in real time have been justified if they were confronting a “mob riot”—??

Would the police not deploy to Berkeley or Watts or South Central to quell a mob on the verge of killing people for lack of “information?”

Yet for weeks on end following this reported realtime conference the going story even in the NY Times was that an event was occurring in which amateur protesters were threatening a US embassy and our trillion dollar military didn’t want to risk anyone to stop it.

My question is how do I EVER believe people like Panetta, the NY Times, and not just what they say but their COMPETENCE because they can’t even align their lies in such way as to make any kind of sense at all.

Oh, wait. I don’t believe any of it or them — ever.

(never mind)

Wonder if there could be a march in their honor in Washington? Like a way for the American People to “come for them” in a way the administration didn’t?

After that 1st debate debacle, Obama needed a big bounce, had he gone into Benghazi John Wayne style, there would be no looking back. This only proves to me that this was a pre-planned event, to produce big results, and he was watching it unfold. Either it went as planned or it went bad with the involvement of the seals. He stated that there were there things he ordered as it was unfolding......1). Secure the safety of victims. 2). Investigate so this never happens again. 3). Bring those to justice that did this. Everything about this statement is in the past tense. No leader would be thinking about investigation and justice during an unfolding attack.

Is that a picture of the terrorists taking our dead ambassador to the hospital after parading him around the streets and raping him along the way?

According to the first week of lies, Obama’s minions claimed that they (the Libyans) took him to the hospital.

@RyanMaue So scale of 1-10, 10 being catastrophe, how bad is this thing looking?

15m Ryan Maue Ryan Maue @RyanMaue

@MHFaulkner meteorologically, it’s a 10 — however, sensible impacts at surface in urban environment + coastal geometry hopefully less.

Obama believed the political risks of failure were too great to justify the use of force. Right from the very beginning, we started to hear from the Administration about the "fog of war" crap when they knew exactly what was happening in real time. Obama didn't see this as an opportunity but a political trap. He just didn't figure on the whistleblowers and the deaths of Woods and Doherty at the annex. Wow this is a bombshell if your take is what actually happened.IT does make sense as well.Seems I heard the same thing on talk radio Friday can't recall where. Your take seems bullet proof. It looks like that's the real deal to me.

What about all the refusals of security for Stevens over a period of months and then the taking away of what security he had, what was going on there? How does that feed into the equation?

But the bottom line is that Obama is the one making the decision, not his underlings.

While that is always true isn't it possible he's just auto signing things while someone else really makes the call? This guy is just not a leader. He never makes any decisions on his own, IMHO. I think he's too incompetent to do so. He knows campaigning that's it.

Obama “Now with respect to Libya, as I indicated in the last debate, when we received that phone call, I immediately made sure that, number one, that we did everything we could to secure those Americans who were still in harm’s way;”
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t Tyrone Woods killed by a motar shell from one of the very mortars which could have been destroyed had Obama actually tried to secure anyone?

Wondering why no one has asked the white house when this order was given.

I’m sure there has to be some timeline of approximately when Woods / others
saved people, and then were killed, also when the support/standown scenario
took place.

Where’s the Woodward/Bernstein types now ???????????

Great thoughts her Bob.What I am finding is that we are power blogging here and if we advance enough theories and links sooner or later we come up with plausible theories. Kabar just came up with a really goodone, IMHO.
