Let me take a moment and agree with you.

He can do all the reaching he wants, indeed he SHOULD reach.

He should do it with political aplomb NOT for fear of bad press and cocktail party invites.

I think Romney quite capable of doing this and for the early criticism of Romney (and make no mistake I was NOT silent), I did tend to allow him space for working so well with what is such a very, very blue state.

The umbrage was that Romney enacted a state health care plan but a)his overwhelmingly blue state wanted such a thing witness the majority of their elected officals who back it and b)it was a state thing and by all in me, I’d allow a state health ins. mandate thing to be determined by the denizens. Not very smart on these matters but I’ve got an open mind to states setting the agenda, more input from citizens.

I trust a business owner to reach across aisles more than a community organizer and more than a McCain all busy pimping that stupid campaign finance reform bill that had us all awake nights for our concern.

It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Yes, hell will reign down if Romney gives up principal to garner sympathy from the devil ....errr sympathy from the libs/communication office; (ABCCBSNBCCNN).

I don't see that happening with the groundswell of support I expect next week. And the idiocy of their policies. This ain't no Massachusetts. He won't need liberal support to breathe as was the case in BlueMass. He's got conviction and determination to fix this. I'll be one depressed, disgusted Republican if he waivers, but even in the beginning, I never thought Mitt was a liberal.

Bain was HQ'd in Mass, but I think Mitt thought that bi-partisanship (aisle reaching) was a key to winning a presidential election. So, he ran for Senate and Gov. It probably was back in '96. And, he needed a success story, resume enhancer from his days as Governor. Times, country and the world have changed.

Yes, he'll have to battle the media when he eliminates the Dept. of Education, Energy, etc. but public support will prop him up.
