Slight rain and some wind gusts in Westchester county, NY. Overall, it’s not bad. Hope it stays this way.
Looks like Jersey and LI are going to get hit the worst.
Rush quoting Jay Carney (WH Spokeslady): (paraphrasing) when asked if Obama can or will postpone election, Jay does not answer.
Mist and windy in Red Hampshire at the moment...

Here in Ocean County, NJ. Very windy. Lot’s of damage already, especially at the ocean front. Son in law is out doing emergency calls for the phone company infrastructure. Worse is yet to come. The rest of us are all hunkered down. Can’t believe the power has not gone out yet. 5000 without power so far in our town. It’s the first hurricane I have every been in (and there have been many) that I feel kind a little fearful.
In Northeastern Maryland, rain and wind, but not too bad yet. Still have power, and Internet! The Cecil County Emergency Services Dept posted on their Facebook page that they expect the I-95 and US-40 bridges over the Susquehanna River to be closed due to high winds. My traffic app still shows them open.
Live just outside of Norfolk, VA. and so far it’s been pretty tame honestly, hoping it stays that way. There has been a consistent light to moderate rainfall since yesterday with light winds, not enough to pick up anything. My power is still on, even the direct tv is still on which is surprising since it usually goes out with even a mild storm. Many people going to work as usual, my husband being one of them. There are a few areas of minor flooding, but those spots usually do flood with most storms. So far, I feel like we’ve been lucky. Hopefully those of you up farther north get spared major damage too. Prayers sent.
Prayers sent to all those being impacted. Your safety comes first.
I have a sick feeling that the Kenyan is going to get a decent political bump out of this, which would make this the worst natural disaster in the history of our country.
Can anyone explain how it’s any different for Obama to “monitor” Sandy from the high perch in the Whitehouse from George Bush to “monitor” Katrina from Air Force One???
Just heard Sandy picked up to 28 mph. Earlier landfall but less rain along its path.

I probably won’t be around for a few days. North Eastern Maryland is fittin to get pounded.
We’re getting gusts of 30 mph here right now and I am 800 miles south of New York.

The Maryland Transportation Authority confirms that I-95 and US.40 are closed at the Susquehanna River bridges due to high wind. The Conowingo Dam (US.1) remains open.
It may be the most accurate yet.
