"....wont have to see or hear nasty Obama ads for a while."
Hey - that's a big plus all by itself!

Don’t know if you’ve heard about PEPCO or not but they are the worst electric providers in the country. Their power outages are infamous and the reason why I spent a small fortune putting in a generator and transfer switch.
Sandy never got above 45mph and our lights never went off...so far. Much ado nothing.

At least dysPEPCO doesn’t have power lines strung all over on telephone poles like they do in most of Shoot Cago.

You haven’t seen Obama’s “secret weapon.” A giant a$$ megaphone and a rough terrain TelelPromter. They’re not getting off that easy.

We have the same trouble here because the city does not keep the trees trimmed back from the powerlines.
I’ve seen power drop in a 15mph wind.

I’m holed up in Hagerstown, 2 counties northwest of Monkey. The power blunk for a second, once. Agh agh agh, they shut down Valley Mall for weather in which Chicago area malls would be defiantly blazing with light. McDonalds the only eatery still open and almost no customers.

Yeah, I’m thinking this is going to make Carter/Reagan 80 look like a close contest.
Democrat turnout is HEAVILY depressed and Indy Romney turnout is way up. America’s survival is at stake.

Au Contraire, PEPCO is all above ground on telephone polls. The reason they have so many outages is because they didn’t cut down branches from large trees their lines go through.
LOL our electricity just went out as we spoke!!!!. Had to go start er up.

YMMV, in Hagerstown they look to be buried cables. Maybe the Monkeys won’t ever issue the permits to do that.

DC is all underground so when we had Snowmageddon, pre generator, we had to hold up there.
You lobby your state congesscritter and get underground electric, where you are I’m sure it’s a lot cheaper than around here. It’s so worth it.

you know I have the webcam looking out at Times Square and people are milling about....its wet outthere but no standing water....
this storm will be much like Katrina in that some areas will be hit very very hard and just a mile or two away, very little....except losing electricty or safe water will affect everyone...

Losing the subways and rail transportation will also affect everyone.
I have a really bad feeling about this from reading the hurricane thread. 10 dead so far. Who knows what it will be tomorrow?
