If this is true, how can it be a Russian conspiracy?

A Russian MANPAD would leave explosive residue.

Articles say the explosives likely were residue from WWII battles in the area and the Poles do not suspect foul play.

Articles say the explosives likely were residue from WWII battles
in the area and the Poles do not suspect foul play.after 65 years? ...was the "residue" on the surface...
or leached into the soil after the intervening years..call me very, very skeptical
..sounds like the "stories" was "disinformation planted" by the Soviets.

Two years later, they announce finding explosive residue?
Reminds of the Ron Brown coverup.

Reminds of the Ron Brown coverup.true...after two years, they think the anger has subsided...
with the weak Russian denials and the current economic pressures...well.

have not ruled out the possibility that the traces of explosives come from unexploded bombs dating back to World War Two that could have remained in the area where the aircraft came downYep, uh huh, that's their story and they'll stick to it.

Please correct my memory...Was there also a question about the density of the fog?...That it was not as dense as stated to the public and therefore not a danger for landing?
Time has passed and I can’t remember for certain this particular detail.
