Romney Urges Ohioans to Vote Early as Mittmentum... (R&R AD BUY IN PHILADELPHIA)
Rush Limbaugh ^ | 10/30/2012 | Rush Limbaugh

If Romney's buying advertising in Philadelphia, it means it's in play. It means that it's in play. And, of course, "Bite Me" is in Pennsylvania. Minnesota is, I think, a three-point state right now. So Romney is buying advertising time in Philadelphia. It's as blue as Los Angeles is. Maybe bluer in ethnic ways, but regardless, they got the money to spend, and that tells me that there's a chance, and they also, I think, it may be a little bit of a rope-a-dope, spend some money in Philadelphia, make Obama spend some time there as well. Although I don't know if it's just a trick. Obama and the Democrats are clearly smart enough to realize it's a trick and not to fall for it. So if Obama and the Democrats are in there, it's because there's a problem. But buying time in Philadelphia, as opposed to, say, Pittsburgh or Allentown or some other city, but Philadelphia, that's a specific thing.

And, of course, again, NPR just a month ago, four weeks ago, NPR had it Obama 51-44. Today it's 48-47 Romney. The ABC/Washington Post daily tracking poll is out, and they've got it dead heat, I think, 49-49. And it doesn't matter. In no poll is Barack Obama anywhere near 50%. Well, 49% is near 50, but he's not at 50, and even in this ABC/Washington Post poll, they say that their respondents expect Obama to lose. They say that their respondents expect Romney to win.

Whoohah! The bombshell news is Romney isn't just playing in PA - he's buying advertising time in Deep Blue, Democrat-rich Philadelphia! Now that is bold strategery. I didn't think he had in him! Can you imagine what Obama, the Democrats and the MSM must be thinking? One thing is for sure: PHL is definitely in play!

Aside from “walking around money”, why have the Dems been so much better at getting early voters?

I am against early voting, and don’t have it here, but IF I did, I would probably take advantage of it anyway.

In fact I would think GOP voters with jobs would definitely take advantage of flexible voting.

Is there some reason I am missing?

A few weeks ago, the MSM was not only citing polls that said more people expected Obama to win, they were acting as if those polls were predictors of the outcome.

Now, not so much.

If we’re making a major play for PA...wow.

I’ve been wondering how you can buy tv time on such relatively short notice. I would have thought that it was all booked much further in advance. Anybody?

PHL is unexpected.... Romney hopes to peel off ethnic Democrats. If anything, it may cut into O’s margin in PHL. He can’t afford to underperform there.

The FOX analysts have been saying the Philly suburbs, and other affluent suburbs in other swing states are places where Romney can do well. The Romney campaign lately seems to be doing what the FOX analysts recommend within 2 or 3 days, such as going heavier in Wisconsin.

He’s buying there because honestly, he’s got the rest of the state by a large margin.... You need to come out of Philly without getting overwhelmed to win as a Republican in PA.

Based on my experience this election cycle, Romney has most of the rest of the state well won, so if he can simply come out of Philly without being overrun he’ll win.

Obviously he should be buying elsewhere too, but its an interesting play.... I’d say Romney is going to surprise everyone with how well he’ll do in the Philly suburbs, and I thought that before this buy... the buy certainly will make that even better.

This is a move to win PA... Romney already has Central and Western PA. He needs the Philadelphia suburbs (many socially-liberal fiscal conservatives) to turn toward him, and the best way to reach them is an ad buy in Philadelphia.

Wasn't Rocky filmed in Philly? Mitt beating Obama in PA is definitely along the lines of that story. Maybe some Photoshop savvy Freeper can superimpose Mitt's photo on the image below.

well my family members in Pittsburgh definitely agree with this analysis. On a different note, I heard just the tail end this am on Rush’s show regarding an SOS app that was used by Steve Jobs. Can someone tell me the name?

The Philadelphia TV and radio stations reach a pretty broad area - the Philly suburbs, central PA, northeastern PA (including the Pocono Mountain area), southern New Jersey (south Jersey leans more Republican than north Jersey), and most of Delaware. Hopefully the ads will allow Mitt to pull in voters in the city of Philadelphia itself, as well as in Delaware and New Jersey.

“...Rush’s show regarding an SOS app that was used by Steve Jobs. Can someone tell me the name?”

The app was one created by Jay Elliot, who had worked with Steve Jobs. Elliot wrote a book, ‘The Steve Jobs Way: iLeadership for a New Generation’. Rush mentioned that he read about it in Elliot’s book. Rush has one now. I believe it is this...

Nuvel’s vSOS Now saves Lives On Android

http://www.androidauthority.com/nuvels-vsos-now-saves-lives-on-android-21966/

The app works on two levels. First, owners can add their own personal medical information to the app – disabilities and allergies are some examples, and this info will help emergency personnel treat you once they arrive. Also, emergency contact information can be included so first-responders can immediately contact your family or your doctor in case something bad happens to you.

The second purpose of the app is 24/7 access to emergency services. For a subscription fee of $12.99 per month, vSOS users will be able to immediately notify local authorities if there’s an emergency. All you have to do is press the home screen icon for more than 3 seconds, and a distress signal is sent to GEOS, a professional services company, which will then contact local emergency services if they can’t contact the user.

That’s not all - GEOS has its own Search and Rescue services. If its available in the area, expect them to be on their way as soon as you notify them. The app even sends your GPS location so as to assist their EMS teams in finding you.

Thanks, this vsos app sounds great. Can I use it on an android phone? If not, how long before it is available on android?

Sorry I did not read your very thorough summary of this product before posting. It just proves that one has to read each and every post on FR since responses are often provided by a very knowledgeable group.

Maybe the wildin’ is getting to be too much Philly. Ya think?!

Contrary to the insanity of socialism, the race hate and violence against whitey game Obama has played, does not help him. Racist mobs hate, attack and scapegoat everyone who is not of their color.

“Diversity” race pride, aka racism, is not a virtue nor a path for success in American life. It’s a fast track to prison. For a city swamped with Black rage, crime and wildin’, the road map leads straight to Detroit.
