The return of Bain Capital (Big Bird, Binders, Bayonets Under Bus)
Politico ^ | 10/30/2012 | Alexander Burns and Maggie Haberman

For the final days of the 2012 campaign, the Democratic groups pummeling Mitt Romney on television have returned to the weapon they started with last spring: Bain Capital.

The Obama campaign and its super PAC allies have spent months trashing Romney’s policies and personal values across the airwaves, branding him as a job-killing, abortion rights-opposing, Medicare-privatizing tycoon who disdains working-class and poor Americans.

But with a little over a week left in the race, several of the Democrats’ top independent spenders are leaning hard into the Bain message, eschewing a pure policy message for a gut-punch reminder that the former Massachusetts governor made his fortune through controversial deals in the private-equity industry.

The late emphasis on Bain, Democratic strategists say, reflects both the potency of Bain as an attack against Romney in general, and the pivotal significance of Midwestern states such as Ohio where the Bain message is especially resonant. Though Romney remains no better than tied with Obama in most national and swing-state polls, he has gained enough ground since the first debate on Oct. 3 that reinforcing Obama’s standing in states such as Ohio and Wisconsin is of paramount importance.

Nobody cares anymore.
You can’t tell people that you want them to be prosperous, and at the same time tell them that being prosperous is evil.

If that’s all they’ve got, they are done, stick a fork in the turkey.............

Under Mitt’s own direction, Bain kept its nose remarkably clean. Most of what people are complaining about or alleging concerning Bain took place after Mitt ceased directing Bain.

The Bain attack has not, is not, and will not make any difference. The rest of that stuff is just noise.

I said months ago that Bain Capital would be a non-issue with respect to attacks on Romney. There are too many success stories with Bain that Romney can point to in response (Staples, Bright Horizons, Dunkin' Donuts, etc.).

Attempting to inject Bain Capital into the race at this late point is an act of desperation by Obama. Nothing is sticking to the wall. Romney might have more Teflon on him then Reagan himself.

I think this is the only presidential campaign in history where all the incumbent did was attack the other guy. Obama can't give us a single reason to vote for him - it's all Romney this and Romney that (with a few sprinklings of "Bush this and Bush that"). Even Jimmy Carter had a few accomplishments to run on, such as Middle East peace talks and introducing blue jeans to the White House dress code.

Obama has given us nothing in four years.

These leftist media whore live in an imaginary world. 'No better than tied in national polls'. Gallup has maintained a 4-7 point lead for weeks. Rasmussen has a 2-4 point lead. Both with Romney at or above 50% consistently. Other than Ohio, most key swing state polls have been clear Romney leads for almost 2 weeks. Ohio finally is starting to follow suit.

In the leftist world, no polls show Romney with leads in National or state polls. Unbelievable.

And don't forget small/home brewer friendly beer de-regulation, Mr. Sam Adams.

For a guy to be “pummeled”, the opposition has to lay to lay a glove on him.

I think Romney has not been pummeled at all. There have just been a lot of air punches by the Obamanation’s supporters.

People have seen Mitt, heard Mitt and will see this for the sad attempt of "a loser to throw one more punch" that it is. The media can't run with it for the same reason; they can't afford to alienate any more of the shrinking viewership that still thinks they're credible.

The Kenyan must go.
