Water does a lot of damage. If they think that all they have to do is pump out the water and everything will be good to go, they are going to be very disappointed.
I use to repair electronic equipment. Once wet there is little hope. In most cases the best bet is to replace it.
But if the past is any indication they will try a quick (cheap) fix and hope nothing bad happens. I think something bad is going to happen down the road as corrosion sets in.
It’s not only about the water. It’s about the salt.
Just think of a real very big version of say, spilling a cup of coffee unto a computer keyboard, you get the hint.
