Middle Cheese, my source on the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign who talks to the Romney big cheeses regularly, writes in with a state-of-the-race update for Thursday:
Politically, Hurricane Sandy (and Gov. Chris Christie) helped President Obama, but my sense is that it was more a respite than a boost.
FL, VA, and CO are looking very solid for Romney. NV remains within reach for Romney, but favors Obama ever-so-slightly.
WI, MI, IA, PA seem to be closing well for Romney. In WI, internal GOP polling shows Romney with a 1 point lead and gaining steam.

Interesting. But there are too many rumors flying around out there from “insiders,” all saying different things. I’m sick of the spin and just ready to vote.
Two thoughts come to mind...
1) In the Dark... That’s how it’s felt for the last few days... Seems a bit more quiet on the political battleground at this point in time as compared to elections past. Not a lot of inside info/leaking occurring and good polling seems sporadic (understandable a few days ago, but not now). Don’t like this feeling of being in the dark...
2) It looks like this is going to come down to which pollsters are right when it comes to turn out models. If turnout is like 2008 then The One may squeak out a close one. If turnout is not like 2008 (closer to 2010) then either Romney squeaks out a close one or maybe even a blowout...
Is Obi-Wan still around? Don’t remember reading anything from him this cycle.
R/R up one in Wisconsin is a huge development. We have a tested ground game there, and we can definitely win it.
what are the rumors???? Please tells us, we’re grown-ups.
If the Independents break strongly for Romney, as they should, this will be a blowout.
I don’t know for sure but I read paglia444 to be just a general statement about how every side is saying we think we’re gonna win. And all the conflicting poll info.
OR
Maybe paglia444 has some real insider info that conflicts what NRO is stating???!!
I look for Romney to carry Va, Ohio, Wisc., and Iowa. But the early stake in Obama’s heart will be Pa going Romney. He’s too close in all these states with momentum for the Obama-ites to pull them out of the fire.
What did NRO say?
Ignore me. I see the article
Skeptical. They wouldn’t be internal polls if everybody knew about them.
