Have to do the flash-pop trick to get the bead to seat on large tires sometimes.The safety NCO in me just has to say 'that isn't very safe'. But yes, ether, or hairspray works to seat the bead.
If you have a running vehicle that can move, breaking the bead off the rim can be done by carefully driving over the old tire (not the rim), without the use of the tire tools. Also, not very safe, but it does work.

Putting a jack base on the tire and then jacking up the vehicle to break bead? I haven’t used either of these methods.

Simply lay the tire under the vehicle (not the rim, but the tire) align it with either the rotor or drum, and lower the vehicle onto the tire to break the bead.
