SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. - November 1, 2012 -- The Fun Town Pier in Seaside Heights is now a pile of twisted metal and broken rides lying on the beach as waves lap over it.
It's one of two piers destroyed in hurricane Sandy where the iconic Ferris wheels seem to be the only thing left standing.
It's hard to conceive of how long that could take. Seaside Heights and nearby towns are under martial law.

They (White House insiders) were celebrating the approach of Sandy in Chicago from what I hear and preparing to somehow use it against Mitt Romney, from what I heard.
These people are not only sick with their thinking but continue to forget Obama and NOT Romney is the one in power.
I think they’ve lied so much and are in so much denial that they now believe that Obama is the challenger.

I heard an Obama commercial exactly like that. Where they were trying to make it sound like Romney has been in charge for the last 4 years, and Obama is going to come in and save the day. It was amazing.
His whole campaign has been like that. He’s distancing himself from his own Presidency.
I just saw a new ad (not sure if it’s the same as you saw) and I had to check the date of the YouTube video at the bottom. In the ad he was running against George Bush’s economy. The date was Nov. 2012.
If this man wins, we’re doomed.

What’s going on here? Is this merely local shortages due to power issues?
How wide spread is the power outage? Is the power outage range so wide that functioning gas stations are not within reach?

The problem is not gasoline supplies, but the ability to distribute it, especially from the critical terminal area around Linden, N.J., which lost power and was hit by storm surge. An estimated 75 percent or more of the gas stations in New Jersey were closed either because they had no gasoline, no power or both, said Sal Risalvato, executive director of the N.J. Gasoline, Convenience, Automotive Association. His organization represents about 1,000 gasoline stations in N.J.
“What I’m seeing is there’s a combination of problems. Power is at the root of it. That means gasoline that is already in inventory, already refined in those big tanks you see along the side of the turnpike, they can‘t get that gasoline into the delivery trucks without power,” said Risalvato.
