Kids say the darndest things. But sometimes they say shocking things.
On Thursday, 9-year-old Brandon did the latter when he was asked why he wanted President Barack Obama to win a second term outside a campaign rally featuring First Lady Michelle Obama in Daytona, Fla.
“Because if Mitt Romney win, we’ll be going back to the crop fields,” Brandon said, referring to the days of slavery. “We’ll be picking crops.”
The father can be heard off-camera laughing. Obviously, no 9-year-old child would determine through their own reasoning that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney would send African-Americans “back to the crop fields.”
“We need Obama to win, because Obama was our president for how many years? Three years. And we need him to win because he’s a good president,” the boy added.

If anything they should be attacking Eli Whitney for stealing their jobs.
In our more agricultural society kids of all races worked in the crop fields. Maybe some time there will teach him to take advantage of the educational opportunities he has available.
My little town has one black family. I noticed that the oldest son works “the crop fields” at our local veggie farm and stand.

It’s the communists/socialists/liberals that want you picking crops.
The capitalists/free marketers/conservatives have farm equipment to do that, they want you to have a higher paying job in town, so you can buy more of their stuff!
As opposed to what? Someone has to pick the okra and you can bet it won’t be those who made an effort to get an education or learn marketable skills.
Truth be told, the most likely way for most people, at least the ones who won’t die off when the SHTF, to return to the fields is to keep electing Democrats.
I really think that culture equates working to support yourself with “slabery”.

Hmmm, when I was about 10 or 11 years old I used to pick strawberries for a lovely elderly couple who had a little strawberry patch and market stand. When I was in my teens, I picked corn for market for some neighbors. I sorted beans on conveyer belts, drove tractors, picked and bunched onions, hoed pepper plant fields, etc. That’s right, I worked in ‘crop fields,’ and by doing so, I managed to save quite a bit of $$$ for college and managed to graduate with *very* little debt which I paid off way ahead of schedule...
John Deere and others make machines for picking cotton,guess the kid will have to collect welfare.

Obviously this young man has not seen the crop fields in the past few years. What he and his ancestors did was replaced by a redneck in a big machine.
Romney cannot put them back in the fields, where the hell will they go?
