Saturday at noon there will be gas rationing for passenger vehicles in 12 counties.
Gov. Chris Christie signed an executive order today instituting gas rationing for the purchase of fuel by motorists in 12 counties.
Calling the fuel supply a "shortage" that could endanger public health, safety and welfare, the rationing will take place in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris, Monmouth, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.
The order restricts the sale of fuel for use in passenger cars depending upon whether their license ends in an even or odd number, the order said.

Not at the pumps. Even/odd rationing should have started days ago. I’m surprised there haven’t been riots yet. There needs to be places set up with tankers for nothing but gas for generators to keep the cars out of the way

Stupid idea. Just let the market work and remove the price controls.

Well this sure ought to make him more Obama like than he could have ever dreamed. Why NOT rent generators and bring in more fuel? These elected politicians of the haughty northeast are sure giving LA governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin a run for the money in sheer stupidity.
I cannot wait for the high praise from Ann Coulter on the magnificence of her ChrispChristy.

This is really all about getting rid of these stupid lines for gasoline at the stations that have been open for business for the last few days.
When my car gets down to the 5-6 gallon mark, I'm just going to drive 120 miles out into Pennsylvania to fill up there. That will take less time than filling up here in New Jersey.

If he wanted to get fuel to the consumers he would eliminate all but the most necessary regulatory restrictions, and allow dealers to price gouge. In a very short amount of time there would be plenty of fuel available.

Carter was welcomed back in 2008, with the same result. Gas rationing was instituted by the states to keep some semblance of order during a severe shortfall. Mile long gas lines won’t do a thing to help the recovery in NY and NJ

Sounds like a great money making opportunity.
Surprised entrepreneurs aren’t bringing in pickup trucks full of 5 gal cans and selling for 10 bucks a gallon.

but will he ration doughnuts? Krispy Kreme Kristie. Somehow I think already has a freezer full and all the electricity he needs to defrost them when his blood sugar drops below 300.
