Queens residents arm themselves in the post-storm blackout from looters
NY Daily News ^ | 11/2/12 | Clare Trapasso , Mark Morales AND Corky Siemaszko

Ever since Sandy strafed the Queens peninsula and tore up the boardwalk, it’s become an often lawless place where cops are even scarcer than electrical power and food. Locals say they are arming themselves with guns, baseball bats, booby traps — even a bow and arrow — to defend against looters. Thugs have been masquerading as Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) workers, knocking on doors in the dead of night. But locals say the real workers have been nowhere in sight, causing at least one elected official — who fears a descent into anarchy if help doesn’t arrive soon — to call for the city to investigate the utility.

Egads, that’s a school? It looks more like a prison.

Schools have always been turned into shelters but that attitude needs to be stopped. No way should children have to go back to that septic tank. There’s no way that place will be open for kids on Monday. They’d have to fumigate the entire place and send the hazmat team in there to spray down ceilings, walls and everything. Why do these freaks always stuff clothing down toilets?

By the way I forgot to ask; how much of a mess do you think a gun is going to make?

People who elect officials like the Cuomos (pick one) do not deserve the benefits of modern technology.

Mario Cuomo has the blood of ten thousand murder victims on his hands.

He vetoed the Death penalty 12 years in a row and every year there were over two thousand murders in NYC

Pataki signed the bill and murders dropped by half.

For me? Nothing that can't be taken care of with a damp sponge ;o)

That being said, how well can you defend yourself while you're hiding bodies....?

Back from checking out that school on google street view. Unbelievable. This is what kids in NY have to go to every day? Now I understand where they get such a warped mentality.

How does one determine which eye is dominant?

Point your finger at a spot on the far wall with both eyes open. Without moving your finger, close then open each eye individually. The eye that shows your finger pointing closest to the spot you picked is the dominant one.

Why hide 'em? Just stack 'em up and call 'em sandbags . . .

Governor Carey really infuriated me with his posturing on the death penalty. When I was 15 growing up in a then-integrated, now-black neighborhood in Queens, one of the local brothras, and a guy I knew pretty well, one day approached a group of people waiting on line to take the Q-111 bus to the Parsons Boulevard IND station. He inquired of a young man on line what time it was. The young man was a Jewish man, who had recently been discharged from the Army, where he served as a first lieutenant and infantry platoon leader in Vietnam. As the then-young and never-to-grow old man turn to look at his watch, the brothra plunged a knife into his heart. This fact is undisputed. The killers mother took him to the police station, his clothing covered with his victim’s blood.

Seven years later, on turning 22, this vile racist lunatic was released into the community. His first day out, he went down to the laundromat, took a small white teenager who just happened to be there and stuffed him into a dryer and deposited a quarter.

It was around this time that Governor Carey announced that he would block any death sentence in New York as long as he was Governor. At light bulb went on in my head, “Governor Carey doesn’t give a shit about people like me.” I was cured of liberalism in a flash.

You be surprised for fast looters and thugs disappear at the site of a 6’1” 230# man armed with guns and a tomahawk carrying a mutilated body for disposal.

The tomahawk is extremely effective for close in fighting and can put a perp down with one stroke.

I highly recommend them and they do not have to be expensive to be useful. Track of the Wolf caarries cheap ones and they work just as well as the high versions.

Some of our soldiers carry hawks. None of them carry batons.

No one is questioning the “effectiveness” of a hawk.

However, if you plan to put yourself in the role of “our soldiers” during a post-storm blackout, I can confidently say you might also want to prepare yourself for becoming a bad man’s girlfriend when the dust clears.....

You might be surprised how many *don't* disappear when they see a "cracker" carrying the mutilated corpse of a "brother...."

Hate to break this to you, but 6'1" 230# just ain't that big, nor impressive.

Enough said though. Do what you will. It was not my intention to start a pissing contest.

I know that's what the guns and the tomahawk is for to compensate and act as force multipliers. No offense was take in these postings.

When Bloomberg hears of this he will propose legislation regulating the size and draw weight of compound bows.

Forced by their own governments to resort to medieval weapons.

We have to find a way to limit government or we'll all wind up back in the stone age.
