You know, I’ve been thinking about why Pennsylvania votes the way it does, and honestly, I think it has to do with familiarity more than anything. Voters here don’t seem to care what a candidate’s positions are as long as they know them.
Why did Tom Corbett win in 2010? Because he was so well-known throughout the state. Why will Bob Casey win? He comes from a famous family. Remember Jack Murtha? Same deal. Mark Critz, his former aide, is going to beat Keith Rothfus in my district, largely because people simply happen to know him.
It’s a childish worldview, but it is what it is. Logic left the gates here a long time ago.

Dick Morris’s constant flip-flopping on Twitter has completely convinced me that he has no particular insight into what’s going on any more than I do.
And so is Barone and Will and everyone else who predicted a blow out...right?
Hope you’re right. It wasn’t supposed to be this close. We’re getting our butts kicked outside of the close states, and especially in the Senate, so it’s clear that the pollsters weren’t that far off. I’d hate to see Nate Silver outperform Barone. It’s clear that far too many people want the government to take from those who earned it and give it to those who didn’t. I fear for my young children.
Rush (correctly) said that if Romney loses there would be an attempt on both sides to pin it on the other-—”too many moderates” vs. “not enough moderates.” I don’t know with Ryan how you can say he got more moderate. If anything, and I know a pretty influential conservative who agrees with me, Romney seemed to get more conservative as the campaign went on.
Well, you do the math - Romney obviously isn’t going to win by a landslide tonight.

I'm shocked to hear that. I don't have Cable TV or DirecTV anymore, all I have is whatever I can get over-the-air or stream off the net.
Right now I'm watching Fox News via a live stream on the net and I'm damn' sure glad I don't pay for it anymore. I swear, it's an apology-fest for Romney and they're fully in the tank for Obama!
WTF is with them "calling a state" as soon as the polls close?! WORST election I've ever seen on ANY network and I'm at the point I'm going to say "screw it!" and go to bed. Less frustrating, and I can hear who wins in the morning.
I swear to Almighty God though, FOX NEWS SUCKS ASS!!! Their coverage is absolutely AWFUL.
I love that portion of this country's population that is worthy and pity the rest. I agree that we are turning into Greece. Bring it on. The only roads that lead to a good future lead through a meltdown that destroys people faith in this status quo system. We need to prepare for that day and not try to prop up the system. Its beyond proping
I fear for our young and for our old. We haven’t lost yet, though!
