Voted at 9:45 am-Longest lines I've ever seen at this polling place (probably because I normally vote at 6-7am) Election district has large population of Hispanics but something new I've noticed this time-I'm seeing a large amount of Eastern European and Irish voters-all no doubt new citizens to this area. Eastern Euros are mostly Russian and Polish. I would guess about a quarter of voters are older white voters (mostly home-owners who for whatever reason have decided to stay here-and who, for the record seem to be largely Romney voters)
I know a number of Russian immigrants, and to a man they can’t stand Obama. In fact, a number of them are Ron Paul supporters.
One has been a strong opponent of ObamaCare, explaining his experience with govt run health care in several countries.
Of course, the reason most of them left Russia was to get away from communism.
i just got back from voting in New Castle, NY- liberalsville, USA...home of the clintons and RFK Jr....
four years ago you could not get into the parking lot of the church and then you could not find a space to park...the place was packed...
this morning??? empty...the parking spaces in front of the main entrance were half full...i was in and out in five minutes...i wore a T-shirt that had a picture of Reagan and underneath it was written “HERO”...then a picture of obama and underneath was written “ZERO”...
Upon entering i was talking with a friend who had just voted...real liberal but nice guy....he opened up my jacket to look at my t-shirt and a passing woman said “I love it!!”...
why is this important?? further proof that there’s no sense of urgency to vote for obama even in the most uber liberal areas...
