No way, no how does South Carolina ever shift to Obama. It’s likely a fluke or even a deliberate ploy, reporting results from a lowcountry majority black county or something.

They don’t call states based on just voting, much of it is exit polling and historical trends. I can tell you this: I call New York for Obama and the polls are still open. Get it?

I think Virginia might be closer than Ohio....but we should pull it out. If we win Ohio, I’m confident of a Romney win.

Ali A. Akbar ‏@ali CNN's exit polls have #Ohio, 1 pt less Dem and 1 pt more Republican. This math ain't looking good for Obama.

I just got off of poll watching in McLean, VA since 6 AM. Huge turnout in the precinct I was working, which is predominantly Dem. I have no idea if this presages a big Dem turnout in Fairfax County and the rest of NoVA. Obama won Fairfax by 110,000 in 2008.

This race is going to be very close. I have no idea how it will go. The demographics of this state have been changing rapidly. One third of the residents of Fairfax County, the largest county in VA with over a million residents, are foreign born. Immigration and the government, federal and state, have created a fertile place for the Dems. I have no doubt that VA will be a solid blue state in less than 10 years. Demography is destiny.

Can’t call the state based on these scattered raw votes. BUT ... it looks as though Allen is running with or ahead of Romney. So, I’m feeling good about this Senate seat as well as about the state’s EV.
