“What shocked me tonight is independents apparently looked at these two candidates and determined that the community organizer was the country’s best bet for the future.”

Turns out they were not “Independent” at all. More like Dependent on sugar daddy Big Government.

Why did you include Rush Limbaugh in that trio? He's been an unwavering voice for Constitutional Conservatism for decades and is poised to be be stronger than ever in the years ahead. He succinctly articulates the values at the core of the real America and helps to rally the base.

I sure agree with you about RUSH. He will give us some insight tomorrow. Although I have heard him lately say that the next President would pick the SCOTUS seats available and our chances of renewal as a country would be too far gone. God BLESS RUSH!!!

you have to remember that obama continues to be counted as black. That's worth an extra ten million votes.

That's why I suggested Axelrod called on his friends in the KGB to burn up some covert assets in the US to beat Herman Cain. He was the only candidate who could defeat that particular Obama talent.

“I posted a thought and I think it bears repeating. What did people like us think when FDR kept getting re-elected?”

My late Grandmother before she passed away this year told me something of those times. She expressed how frustrated her conservative father was with the behavioral of the mob, and foretold exactly how it would end in the deterioration of our republic in to an evermore lawless democracy.

We have been “Food Stampeded””

The truth is you are right FDR won so many times because he built up a popular collation of thieves & ideologies who might also be called Democratic voters. Obama has in this election and the past 4 years done much the same thing. People may not agree with most of his radical policy’s but they wont bite the hand that they now depend-upon for substance.

As a whole our once free republic is dead not just in its Constitution(as John Roberts demonstrated again this year) but also in the criminal additude of most(not all) of its people.

There remains however the silverlining of that minority of us(mostly in the south) that still believe in liberty, property rights, and Constitutional conviction. While the north and Federation as a whole may be without hope of salvation

We don’t all have to be suppressed and robed until we have nothing left of our individual sprint & prosperity and little choice but to join the mob of thieves aiming to rob the next bit.

It will take a great deal of work and a momentous political movement but we can leave Sadom and start anew with those men and women still yearning to live free. We can create a new country founded in liberty upon a real Constitution again.

Nah. Not the core of the country any more.

Maybe 40% of us.

It breaks the heart.

I know a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking will be happening tonight and tomorrow but I agree with you that Romney did the best he could. It’s just not good enough with the 47% of takers and the 5-10% of our population who have sympathy with those 47%. We are so BLANKED that I’m really scared for my family and little ones.

I’m seriously trying to find a way out of this mess but really cannot come up with one.

“I also think Romney did the best he could and gave it his all despite what any think of him here.”

I have to agree that he played the cards he had very, very well. I don’t think he was a good candidate ideologically and Lord knows I didn’t support him. I merely gave him the benefit of the doubt today. But I have come to respect him. Which is something I couldn’t say even a month ago. I was wrong on that part of the equation. He is a liberal and I disagree with him, but he ran as good of a campaign as could be hoped for.

The problem is in my view much more stark. We have a society that is composed of more takers than makers. No conservative is going to win in that environment.

The checks will not stop flowing until they run out of your money and your possessions unless you and others stop them.

Warning, you will not be able to stop them by the vote.

The destruction caused by the last 30 years of progressive education and immigration have seen to it that we are no longer a Republic but a Democracy that is fast becoming a Dictatorship.

Do you or anyone else doubt me?

"big daddy"

reinforces my thought the country is getting dumber by the year. Obama is a rank disaster. As bad as or worse than Carter's presidency. But he's getting rewarded with another four years. Next time a real conservative. If that real conservative loses, time to think about splitting up the country to avoid living in a socialist pesthole.

This election is going to be very difficult medicine to swallow. Not the results so much but what they mean.

Take a look at the electoral map today and compare it to a map of the US circa 1862.

I agree. He may have run the best Republican presidential campaign I have ever seen. He gave great speeches, he did extremely well in the debates, and I thought his advertising was excellent.

No doubt here, but to clear up your terms We became a democracy as apposed to a Republic when the Constitution cease to be upheld and enforced.

The Democracy is (as has always happens in the past)now leading progressively towards not only financial & moral rune but inevitably a dictatorship.

That is for everyone of us who remains bond to it. AS we have seen a great many in our population still hold true to virtues and can be saved self-inflicted doom that is to come if we simply broke off from the mob and created a new country(union) consecrated in liberty and Constitutional limits, as the original one was.

In that act we might buy our posterity anther 200 years, longer if we learn from theses mistakes.

So it had nothing to do with the gop-e picking Romney? It had nothing to do with Freepers blinding calling Romney the next Reagan just because he had an(R) after his name? None of that comes into play?

What makes you think a conservative has a prayer with the electorate at large? This election was between a radical socialist and a liberal. The people chose the radical socialist. This isn’t a problem with packaging or the ideology of the candidate. It’s much more stark than that.

Independents are people who tend to fancy themselves moderates. As Rush says “moderates are just liberals who don’t want to admit it”. I guess Rush forgot his own analysis on this group.
