Don't blame Romney

Because what tonight’s election showed is that the American electorate has degraded very, very badly in the last decade. Exit polling indicates that this electorate was a D+6 electorate. 38 percent Democrat, 32 percent Republican. I didn’t think that was possible. I was wrong. Obama ran and won with an atrocious record, without anything remotely resembling a positive agenda for a second term, with a campaign based on lies, slander and hatred. That’s what he ran on. And that’s what he won on.

Great comment.

I am so tired of the never ending blame game played here by after-the-fact, self-styled experts.

You’re right. A lot of the sub-30 acquaintances I have on social media like Twitter make gay “marriage” and birth control huge issues. Some of the most hysterical crap I’ve ever seen was coming across my Twitter feed from them last night. They think Mitt Romney is an extreme right-winger. They call social conservatives “Nazis,” “fascists,” “brownshirts,” they talk freely about killing us and raping our wives “so they would see what rape is truly like,” they drop epithets on us that would make a Marine DI blush. They honestly believed that electing Romney would “end all rights that women have won over the last 50 years.” Their American Dream is free contraception and abortion on demand and their patron saints are Barack Obama and Sandra Fluke. They honestly believe it is more important to have free contraception than a job.

It is profoundly depressing. Last night just shattered me. For the first time, I’m truly depressed about the future of this country.

Correct. We need to take it out of the FR echo chamber and into the mainstream.

I agree.

A black, a Latino, a woman — a combination of all three on the GOP ticket — wouldn’t have made much difference, at least in terms of the electoral college.

Oh, I agree. I think even if the GOP had ran a female Blacktino candidate, they still would’ve lost. Catering to race politics only works when the candidate is Democrat…

I blame people who said that the polls were wrong. We as a whole were VERY arrogant and said the polls were crap. Guess what? They were right. Maybe if we had listened to the polls, we may have worked harder for the GOTV and have a different conclusion. Arrogance KILLED us!!!!!

but just like here, Rush and Glenn and Savage and Hannity won't cooperate with each other....

One of these guys has created his own TV network and it is debt free. Guess which one? I suspect any one of these guys could have a spot but they won't, for the same reason Glenn is given short shrift here.

This is bad. Very bad. But let’s be honest with ourselves, Romney would never been able to stand up to the lefts assualt. He had no clue who and what the left is. The demonization of him would have begun, day one. The one positive that comes of this is that we take away their villian of the extremist right wing president to blame the coming freight train on. The left owns this disaster.

During the returns there was a commercial for Glee. I said to my very upset family “the popularity of this show is exactly Obama is winning”. What kind of people keep a show like Glee on the air?

It's not what candidate's position is, but how you advocate for it. Akin and Murdoch caused the a huge setback to GOP social agenda. They probably caused GOP the presidency.

This. Push partial birth abortion bans, second and third trimester bans, parental notification laws. Those are winning issues. Start with that. Use those laws to begin working on a total ban.
Saying a woman who is raped and becomes pregnant is being blessed or that biology won't allow a raped woman to become pregnant is political suicide. That just makes appear extremist in the publics eyes.

Look at Obama, you know deep down he really wants to ban all private gun ownership. Yet you'll never hear him admit it.

>>>>Romney could not offer free birth control. It is just that simple.

That’s correct.

It’s amazing how hostile some women get when I point-blank tell them that I am not responsible for financing or preventing the consequences of their sexual behavior. They seethe.

I thought their mantra was “Our bodies, Our Selves”; yet suddenly I’m responsible for their bodies.

>>>>This is a really sick country, if you ask me.

I agree. And given the fact that one can’t really change demographics, we conservatives should be asking ourselves — and one another — where we go from here. I suspect, going forward, that our “Plan A” — the exciting candidate, the GOTV drives, etc. — is a dead-end, because to change things in that way, you have to change people’s ideas on a mass scale, and I don’t think that’s possible (or at least practical) any longer, given the demographic shift you mentioned earlier, and given the current supremacy of mainstream media.

The 18 to 30 generation is nearly a total loss.

I'll amen that. And now those people are going to get theirs, good and hard. I will take some sort of perverse pleasure in seeing them scrounge for jobs in the continuing Obama depression.

The shift in demographics and political disposition has been well underway for awhile now,

You're absolutely right......and I also thought that Benghazi should have been the final nail in Obama's coffin that should've pushed the election in Romney's favor but it didn't.

When you have 85% of the MSM admittedly democrats, it's never going to be a fair election. I don't know what it's going to take to get another Republican elected because this economy could hit rock bottom and the media will always find a way to blame it on us......

BS, boomers have reaped what they have sown, your generation of hippies infiltrated government and schools to educate subsequent generations to hate this country and feel ashamed to be white! The baby boomers have pilfered this nation, now, there is nothing left but memories of what once was, we are now a nation of child sacrifice, gay marriage, families destroyed through divorce, and in debt to our banker China! Boomers destroyed this nation via sheer greed!

And it’s becoming insurmountable. It will only get worse. Add in voter fraud in swing states. Scary.

*** It's the electorate... ***

Yep.
And goes to show that: The only thing dumber than the politicians, are the people who vote for them.

[Don't know if Mark Twain said that, but he should have.]
