Back in the waning days of winter and early spring when common sense prevailed for me, I did think Romney would have a very difficult time confronting Obama as a Conservative. I didn’t see him as one. Particularly on the issue of Obamacare, I thought he was neutered.

I do believe our party picked the wrong nominee. I also believed that the RNC preferred it.

Once that is done, there are two choices, well three actually. You can take a pass on voting. You can vote for him. You can vote for a third party. (I’m just ignoring the idea we could vote for the Democrat here. Not an option.)

I will tell you that I found it very difficult not to vote against a guy like Obama, by giving in and voting for Romney. I did so.

You’ll never hear me giving someone grief for having not voted. I think that WAS the moral thing to do. I know I had to bend mine to back Romney, and to a certain degree, that IS immoral.

By this time, we all know what each other was advocating for over the last six months. We know inside what we wound up doing. Now we live with that.

To those who didn’t vote for Romney or Obama, I salute you. I am sorry it came down to that. It never should have.

In 2016 I hope we are not presented with this situation again. If we are, it will probably turn out the same way. If it doesn’t, it will be just as ugly.

We are members of a political party whose leadership keeps getting it’s way, and whose membership is melting away faster than a surprise 2” snow in early July.

To a very small degree, maybe. Otherwise, a very thoughtful post (as usual). Our problems, sadly, have just begun. We have a drunken coward as Speaker, and Obama has Executive Orders. A deadly combination.
