Here is where the rubber hits the road.. We won’t move unless a 5% deduction on all government spending, across the board, including entitlements.. Not from baseline, but an actual cuts, and with annual 5% cuts for each annual budget, with the 2nd and succeeding year negotiated departmental cuts or NOTHING!
In ten years, at these cuts and normal growth, we are even again.. We will loose about 500,000 government jobs, but more than made up for it in a rise in employment in the private sector..
It won’t happen, but we could get back to 17% of GDP..
No one is yet strong enough to try anything against us, except the Arab terrorists who would no doubt step up their activities..
China needs us almost as much as we need them, because they are nowhere near parity with the US in any area of military, and Russia is all mouth, and old stuff..
NOW, I wouldn't say that in 10 years.. Especially with Obama with 4 of those years..

I seem to recall a bi-partisan, bicameral deal that was kiboshed when Obama stepped in at the last minute demanding more tax hikes. The same players are all now at the same table.
Not so sure about China - they’ve got plenty of markets to which they can sell. As far as operatives here, I’d say none so many as the drug chain, followed by the Islamofascists.

Russia is a major problem to it’s neighbors, and that posses a problem to us having to defend them.. It is not above them to use our difficulties against our allies in their region..
As far as their threat to us, no longer there, and hasn’t been there since the mid 70’s, as Reagan proved..

Would like to go back to original topic, if possible, and have a lively discussion, if is agreed upon. Have attempted to begin by pings to you, gonzo, and Laz. There maybe is an opportunity to fine tune. Decide issues to fight and issues not to fight by asking for a vote of Present. Like Laz mentioned, Freedoms, all Freedoms are important. Laz didn't use those exact words, so Laz, am asking for forgiveness for not quoting. PRESENT (imho) does not have to be used for every vote. Our representatives could be given an outline, an agreed upon outline. I'm willing to type the draft letter (and place out for view for FReeper input) to my representative and one of two of my senators (one is a dem and intend to keep out of loop) to begin the process. May receive back a form letter but is worth a try (imho). Many a form letter has been sent back to my location over the years. LOL. Any interest folks?

'Less Freedom' has been a practice of the Left forever, and has never worked towards prosperity for all. 'Absolute Freedom' is Anarchy, and that doesn't work for all, either. Somewhere in between is Civilization.
It no longer matters how we got to where we are now. The Free-World, USA included, is AT a financial precipice. A financial collapse must happen soon!
Here in the USA, we have something called the Second Amendment, a Right never before allowed by any previous government in history, and that Right is under attack, if you'll remember the fiasco called "Fast-and-Furious".
So, while we still have the means to defend ourselves from the barbarians, let's have the governments-created financial collapse occur, and see what happens!
