But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD. {P} We cannot wish such men to be. They are either are, or not. Such was a man in George Washington. Temptation is ever present . Those that are able to resist are forever loved and revered by those that are unable to be. We need to find such men or women to lead our country, and they are out there.

Man my Hebrew is rusty, but I think that last says something more literally like “it was a bad word, what David did, in the eyes of the LORD.” (LORD is the tetragrammaton, the special covenant name of God to the Hebrews.)
