The GOP-E and moderate/RINO’s have had their way the last two elections and look what happened.

It s time for the onservatives to take over e GOP and kick the establishment out. The second alternative is to leave the GOP and start a new party. GOP will not last if that happens.

I understand what you are saying, but here in Blue Oregon we have put together a system we got 90% of the Repubs to vote and held a seat in a bloodbath. There is a way to do it.

I've got to agree with that. But don't forget to add "their complete control over the media" to your list.

This is a brand new ball game. One team gets eight downs to make a first down, and also gets to pick the officials. The other team only gets two downs.

I really don't see the GOP winning a nation election again unless the dem's make a very drastic mistake, one that the media just can't ignore.

GOP = the next Whig party

We have been improperly defined by others (MSM) and those definitions have stuck. The GOP-e continues to promote moderates and RINOs who try to “talk” conservatism - but they are not authentic, and their “words” do not ring like a Goldwater, Reagan, or even a Gingrich. You can't (or shouldn't) fake conservatism. It's not becoming. It comes across as though they are reading a foreign language and have no idea what they are saying - nor believe it themselves.

I agree, we need an actual fiscal conservative, not another big government wonk in disguise like we’ve had as a candidate in the last few elections. I mean, what better election platform could you have than “less taxes”, we just need to be fair about where the cuts are and get the message out. Nothing should be a sacred cow and that includes the military, we could wipe the floor with any of our enemies without barely lifting a finger. All countries that could possibility be a military threat to us, e.g. China, are too economically dependent on us (and vice versa) to risk war.

The GOP leadership and the MSM kinda work together to determine who the Republican candidate is. This is probably why the Libertarians and Ron Paul people actively work to undermine the GOP candidate in the general election. The Tea Party, however, holds their noses and votes for the GOP candidate knowing the alternative is much worse. Libertarians and Ron Paul voters could care less. All this makes it easier for the MSM to discourage Republicans from voting and push independents to the Progressives. I lump Fox news in with the GOP efforts to pick the RINO candidates.

Exactly, we need someone who has understands the principals of the free market and how it would work unfettered. If we are going to lose anyway why not go for it.

Mitt won the primary gauntlet so a third party is the only way we need to organize and file in every state

Don’t say that to loud on FR, after conservatives can’t win.

I’ve seen it expressed, and I even agree that Ronald Reagan would not have done any better than Romney this time out. The Nation has degenerated to the point where real values have no value with the electorate.

The political class, a part of the "elites," is not like the common man. At bottom, each individual in that class "wins" by getting office, and it doesn't matter which of the two parties they join to get "in." If one party is losing, and right now the GOP is, the same politician might join the DEMs for a better chance at getting "in." The reverse can happen too. Boehner (just to pick an example) doesn't hold any deep political principle, although he mouths certain ones in order to maintain his elected office.

It's is naive to think that the elites are going to voluntarily reduce their own number, or their own influence. This is "law of jungle" played out on a gentleman's battlefield, with voters being misled into a feeling of empowerment by having the vote. I think the voter participation in Saddam Hussein's Iraq was higher than the voter participation in the USA.

The two party formula is tried and proven. All of the elites, elected politicians, judges, etc., all of them claim to be abiding by the same constitution, the same limits of government power.

Reagan would have given the people a reason to vote rather than trying to be loved by the mediots. We need someone like Palin or Gingrich who are willing to fight.

Yes. I just used that term, gentlemen's battlefield, to distinguish from a military battlefield.

And not to say that all politicians are sociopaths, any more than all people are. Just that at the level of "successful politician" in the modern world (and by successful, I mean setting of policy via legislation or order), they all share the qualities of being selfish (would rather be "in" the role, and would drop a principle to stay "in") and of belief that the system of "them" lording over "us" is the correct natural order. IOW, they find the radical order of self government to be nothing but a quaint phrase.

And not to say that the parties are the same. They can't be. If the parties were the same, the illusion of "government of the people, by the people and for the people" would be destroyed. They have to be different, and they have to conduct a public battle against each other. Throw in "the vote," and voila, the politicians can shift all blame to the voters.

What is the same is that they all enjoy the perks and powers of privilege, above all else. And they avoid accountability as if it was the plague.
