New Yorkers Still in the Dark as Obama Hits the Links

A good chunk of Long Island is still in the dark after 12 days now and nobody seems to care. It’s not like the president needs to show up for a photo op since these poor bastards overwhelmingly vote for him anyway.

He’ll come visit eventually, so hold tight to your candles.

It’s also not clear if power will return to the schools in time, so the town has purchased generators for the schools to run on. National Grid, which manages the power grid owned by LIPA, said 95 percent of residents that live in non-flood zones, should have power restored by Tuesday, but there is no timeline for those in flood zones, MyFoxNY.com reports..

Did New Yorkers expect differently? This is Obama’s style. He is above the stife of the common person, only needing them to vote at ellection time. And if the NY Times is not complaining about his activities, then there is no problem. As callous as it sounds, they are getting exactly what they voted for. NJ, NY, Conn., Mass. ,etc. love this president, so who to complain, just get back in line as he jets around on our nickle and plays golf. After all, there is no serious financial cliff concerns to be handled in Wash, so lets go hit the links.....

Obama was presented with a tough decision: 1. Offer help to people who`ll never stop supporting you no matter what, or... 2. Work on that chip shot.

FEMA also closed their offices after Sandy for the Winter storm that just hit. They put signs in the window that said they closed because of weather, apparently not seeing the irony of it all.

If Bush did this. . . the Media would be. . .

I’ve been reading in threads here about an “information war”. A tactic for this situation would be for our people to heap ridicule and scorn on Obama for this - he’s incompetent, insensitive, ignoring the hurricane victims, etc. Make a slogan out of it...put it out there...get some media coverage. Saul Alinsky laid out the strategy and democrats know how to do it. They all use the same “talking point” until it becomes a slogan known by the general public.

It is a little tough to sympathize with New Yorkers.

They voted for a big old poop sandwich with Bloomberg, Cuomo, and now Obama.

They are going to have to eat the whole thing, less bread and more poop.

Yes she did! But when you see your country crumble before your eyes, hard to say “nice”things. Besides when all these folks in the NE thought we were crazy “preppers” , for stocking up on necessities, bet they wished they had food insurance!

But I digress. My mouth is now zipped.....

Jimmy, 36 out of every 100 people in New York voted for Romney. Do you want them to "eat poop" too? Liberal Maryland and D.C. both "voted for Obama" so to speak, yet FReepers have demonstrated with signs along the highways there and have said that folks honked in support as they drove by.

I don't agree with generalizing by state. Some commenter will inevitably even wish for a giant earthquake to take away part of California. Yet Californians support this news forum that we enjoy.

In the current FR fund raiser California is #1, Maryland is #7, and New York is #12, and all are liberal majority states.

Scoreboard

** I have a golf club resting in my empty chair in my front yard.**

Same here and my “Give a damm” meter broke since Tuesday. They voted for the won, so I could care less.

I think you will find that the New Yorkers that voted for Romney are mostly to the north and west of the city.

In the event, you have to admit that Bloomberg and Cuomo have done a god awful job on this one.

As to Obama, well we all get to eat the poop sandwich for the next four years.

It sure looked bad....folks are “up poop’s creek without a paddle” there. And to top it off in NY and NJ they are disarmed by the state, and the looters raged. Bloomberg wants to disarm us all. They should give him the boot.
