As pastor John MacArthur recently said, the 2012 Democrat convention adopted all of the perverted homosexual practices of the antediluvian civilization as it's 2012 platform. Those deviant practices are specifically cited in the Apostle Paul's epistle to the 1st century church at Rome as the primary cause for God's judgment on that ancient world that killed every human being except righteous Noah and his 8-person family.
When God's judgment falls on America, and it will at His own time, it will be primarily because of our disbelief in and rejection of His Son Jesus the Christ (Messiah) and our acceptance of homosexual perversion as normal and harmless along with the legalized murder of 50+ million and counting unborn children in order to eliminate the natural result of the current sexual revolution.
I realize that my view of American society's moral "standards" is old fashioned and totally out of step with that of virtually all Americans. But all I can say is so be it, I'm not changing my belief in the veracity of God's infallible Word no matter how many atheistic eggheads think I'm a gullible old fool.

Catholic identity is not as ingrained as racial identity among blacks. There are lapsed Catholics but there are no "lapsed blacks." You also have to look at the regional concentration of Catholics. They are heavily concentrated in the New England and Mid-Atlantic states. These are blue, liberal states, so there is a regional influence on them competing with whatever message they get from the Catholic church. They're probably more attuned to the message they get from the DNC than they are to the message they get from the Catholic church.
