Petraeus's mistress became jealous of woman military liaison officer from the State Department
Daily Mail ^

The woman at the center of the Gen Petraeus cheating scandal fired off a threatening email to a military liaison in the State Department whom she felt was getting too close to him, it has been revealed.

An official says 37-year-old Jill Kelley in Tampa, Florida, received the emails from Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell that triggered an FBI investigation.

Details of the affair between Petraeus and his biographer Paula Broadwell reportedly came to light during a FBI probe of the emails that she allegedly sent to Ms Kelley.

The new revelation raises the possibility that Broadwell was growing increasingly jealous of a government employee whose job it was to keep in contact with Petraeus.

Ms Kelley, fearing for her safety, contacted the FBI.

I do feel that Petraeus will not lie under oath though

I am not so sure about that. I bet his wife trusted that he would never cheat on her...and I bet he lied to her and others to keep his cheating quiet.

Not that they will, but they can and have done so with others- the military can yank him back under their jurisdiction and bring action against him for any violations he is believed to have committed before he retired...including adultery.

Technically he does still have the possibility of facing military proceedings.

“A person who knows both Ms Kelley and Petraeus confirmed their friendship and said SHE SAW HIM OFTEN.”

LOL...another book soon?

As a retired servicemember entitled to pay, Petraeus remains subject to the UCMJ (Article II (a)(4)).

As a retired officer, Petraeus may be recalled to active duty up to his dying day.

In the recent past, Generals have been recalled from retirement and put back on Active Duty in order to be investigated and punished for actions they took before they retired. Petraeus knows this. Petraeus knows it can be done to him. Obama could keep that from happening, though.

If I am not mistaken, Congressional immunity from prosecution for his testimony could also keep that from happening.

As all mistresses find out, if he cheats on his wife, he’ll ultimately cheat on you.

But what he confessed to (if even true) is not a prosecutable crime. He said he had an affair after he left the Army.

This explains why the FBI would look into an e-mail flame war. It now begs the question of how they can say they found no crime committed. Threatening a State Dept. liaison to the military is legal?

re your “His stupid actions shouldn’t give the Obama administration an excuse to keep him silent.”

Or maybe his actions have allowed him to get out from under the administration, so as to speak more freely.

It may be that Benghazi truly upset him, but while in the chain-of-command, he had to follow orders.

Circles within circles, wheels within wheels.

That’s why we need a timeline. I believe they said this happened while he was still on Active Duty.

Petraeus’s maybe guilty of infidelity, but he is not a Bill Clinton. Petraeus is a Patriot and hero and he will tell the truth! He is brave and when it comes to defending his soldiers and his country, he will let the country know what happen in the situation room.
