Texas has 3 million on Medicare and 4.5 million on Medicaid.
Assuming the state has to pick up those costs after “secession” it’s a HUGE burden.

If we were to secede, yes we would assume a huge burden in social services and debt assumed from the federal government. We would have to borrow a bundle to assume those debts. But the economic boom we would experience would be able to pay off those debts without that much trouble. People would be moving here by the droves, starting new businesses, moving businesses here, buying property, and so forth.
