First rule: Never let a good crisis go to waste.
Second rule: Don’t use it until you really need it.
The noise about the affair is just a distraction..

The new mystery now is why and who floated Petraeus name as a running mate - was it a sick joke?

“But law enforcement officials did not notify anyone outside the F.B.I. or the Justice Department until last week because the investigation was incomplete and initial concerns about possible security breaches, which would demand more immediate action, did not appear to be justified, the officials said.”
BS! Once the Feds learned Petraeus was involved then they had to notify the White House.

When did Petraeus know the jig was up. That he didn’t immediately resign would be disturbing. The FBI keeping the information from the target is even more disturbing. Were the FBI trying to have Petraeus as a puppet?

A case of this magnitude whould never have moved forward without the approval of DOJ - and since it was CIA they would have gotten the WH involved. No one at FBI wants to lose their job.

A close friend of the Petraeus family said Sunday that the intimate relationship between Mr. Petraeus and his biographer, Paula Broadwell, began after he retired from the military last year and about two months after he started as C.I.A. director. It ended about four months ago, said the friend, who did not want to be identified while discussing personal matters. In a letter to the C.I.A. work force on Friday, Mr. Petraeus acknowledged having the affair. Ms. Broadwell has not responded to repeated requests for comment. Well this is a breaking news flash. Everything I have read up to this says Paula was embedded with the general in Afghanistan.

She was embedded, alright...

Maybe the deal was, General, say what we want you to say about this stupid video or else we will do to you what we are doing to that other general caught messing around... play nice and we'll let you retire quietly.
Then news gets out in spite of the deal through Kelley, so it's play nice and we'll let you quietly resign.
No matter what, the investigation of Petreaus had to begin earlier than they admit because all the top dog lib donors were involved in the get Petreaus effort back during the surge. The libs have files on everybody.

The libs have files on everybody. There has to be more than one 'leaker' working this story. Reports are surfacing all over the place with official 'unofficial' mouths squawking about General Pet's love life. Strange isn't it that this same bunch hardly knows where Benghazi is? Let alone willing to answer why the CIC refused to send 'help', and attempted to use some fake video as the cause of 4 Americans getting murdered.
Imagine what we might learn in a couple of days if Obama were to resign tomorrow.

Q. How is it that the FBI has the time to investigate Mr. Petraeus extramartial affair but can’t look into Mr. Obamas forged birth certificate and phony ss card?
It appears that ideas are one thing and what happens is another.

Drudge Is Floating David Petraeus As A Possible Mitt Romney VP PickAug. 7, 2012, 11:00 AM
At the top of his website where millions of eyes will undoubtedly see, Matt Drudge is floating David Petraeus, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, as a possible vice presidential pick for Mitt Romney.
Drudge is polling his readers on Petraeus, who served nearly four decades in the U.S. Army before taking the helm at the CIA under President Barack Obama in September of 2011.
Drudge is crowdsourcing, in perhaps a similar fashion to what he did with Condoleezza Rice a few weeks ago.
