FBI investigators confronted then CIA Director David Petraeus within the last six weeks about his relationship with biographer Paula Broadwell, Fox News has learned -- a detail that comes as lawmakers complain they did not know about the issue until Petraeus resigned Friday.
A source, who is not authorized to speak on the record about the FBI investigation due to its sensitive nature, characterized the meeting between Petraeus and Bureau agents as “recent, and within the last six weeks.”
Asked when Broadwell was confronted, Fox News was told “a little before that.”
Asked why the FBI did not brief Congress immediately when Petraeus’ name surfaced within the scope of the investigation, the source said decisions on notification “should all play out next week” -- a reference to a half dozen Capitol Hill hearings and briefings on the Benghazi consulate attack.

Is it possible not even Holder knew of the investigation, because he and Obama were targets?
POTUS would have been told the moment the investigation started unless the FBI is purposely keeping him in the dark about potential security threats at the highest levels.
But the FBI guy who called Cantor is said to be a “whistleblower”. How do we know the whole investigation wasn’t a rogue whistleblowing effort without official FBI sanction?
If this plays out the way it looks that it might it could very well come to impeachment.Of course there’s not a prayer that he’ll be *removed* but it would still be big.I can’t wait to hear “but it’s only about a dead Ambassador”.
I wonder what kind of security issues the FBI found on Zer0? Them may have been riding on that information until after the election. They may have been counting on Zer0 not being reelected to push the matter even further. Now that Zer0 has been reelected, there is one hot potato to deal with and Congress had better get clicking.

According to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Wash., was told in October by a friend that a whistle-blower had information that implicated Petraeus, the retired four-star general and top CIA official, in an extramarital affair that may also have involved a national security breach.

Top officials signed off on the interviews, which occurred in late September and October, just before the U.S. presidential election. During Ms. Broadwell’s first interview in September, she admitted to the affair and turned over her computer, the officials said.
On her computer, investigators found classified documents, the U.S. officials said, a discovery that raised new concerns.
At Mr. Petraeus’s interview in the week before the election, he also admitted the affair and said he hadn’t provided the classified documents to Ms. Broadwell. Agents conducted a second interview with Ms. Broadwell on Nov. 2. She also said Mr. Petraeus wasn’t the source of the documents.

I reckon we don’t know. FWIW I heard that the WB went to some Rep. or Sen. named Reichart (sp?) and Reichart went to Cantor.
White House knew about the affair before Petraeus was chosen for director and would NOT have chosen him for director had they not had something on him.
I think Obama is going to resign. Oh my God. Can Hillary be Vice President? If she was and Biden resigned, could she serve out this term and then be elected two more terms? I’m going to bed.
I thought it was a six months plus investigation!?! It too the FBI that long to find a link between Broadwell's e-mails and Petraeus?

If she learned before, I would assume she would have told him in some PILLOW TALK setting, before he was called out by others. Wouldn't ya think, being the sweet little lady she is and so loving her man Petraeus/s.
Or did she continue to pay him "visits" and say nothing? (Like my bestess boyfriend is being investigated by the FBI, but I won't tell him??)

I share your opinion and if Petraeus has an ounce of honor and loyalty to this country he will march his butt up to Capitol Hill immediately and spill his guts on everything.
