If overpopulation is supposedly destroying the planet and these people really believe that eating meat kills you.... shouldn’t they be encouraging everyone to eat more meat ?

Orthodox Christians fast from meat (etc.) on most Wednesdays and Fridays (and during fasting seasons). Monday is not usually a fast day.

The primary cause of our obesity epidemic is that people are following the government’s advice to eat more carbs and fewer saturated fats.
We are not talking about more or less money in taxes to run government but a deliberate attack on fellow Americans.
Any politician who deliberately wants to cut an entire industry’s income by 14.3% (one day of the week) should be tried for treason against the American people, convicted by REAL Americans then taken out into the public square and shot. How many REAL Americans are involved in meat production from raising the grain, care and feeding the animals, transportation, butchers, packaging, retail sales....
