quack quack
I’m curious about the pic you posted - what can you tell me about it?
Great article Lloyd!
Lloyd - I know how you feel. Seems everyone around me voted for Obama. If nothing because it is the “fashionable” thing to do. Peer pressure is a very strong force.
Louisiana Rednecks become wealthy marketing duck calls and land a TV show.
Think real-life Beverly Hillbillies in West Monroe, Louisiana.
It’s from a reality show called Duck Dynasty on A&E about a really redneck and poor duck hunting family that is now super rich because the dad invented an amazing duck caller and other stuff.
Although they still look and act like they did before they became rich.

Clean shirt, new shoes
And I don’t know where I am goin’ to.
Silk suit,black tie,
I don’t need a reason why.
They come runnin’ just as fast as they can
Coz’ every girl’s crazy ‘bout a sharp dressed man.
My favorite show these days .... lot of ‘truth’ in the humor ... Phil-osophy (self-reliance, morals, etc.), Si-ence Fiction (outrageous stories by a slightly off-center Viet Nam Vet who can do almost anything - sew a flattering apron for Miss Kay, drive a semi-truck, blow things up!). I have laughed ‘til I cried watching DD.
While the antics are played up for the camera, I’m impressed with a “reality” show that always ends with a family dinner and prayer.
an awful lot of verbage to describe communism.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded- here and there, now and then- are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck."
One reason I love the show so much, the family scenes & prayers at the end. As for the antics, they all crack me up, even if they are playing things up ... you know there is a lot of truth lurking around in there. :-) Phil, teaching his grandkids ‘lessons’ on hard work, morality, etc. ... priceless.
I thought it was ZZ Top.........
I have my suspicions that Uncle’s Si’s Ice Tea, isn’t pure.
You can tell it is not ZZ Top because everyone has a beard.
In ZZ Top, the one without the beard, is named Frank Beard.
