Conservatives don’t abandon their beliefs. Republicans do.

I guess it all depends on how you define “we.” I’m not a member of the Grifter Owned Party (gop) and unlikely to join anytime in the foreseeable future. Their cowardice and capitulation is not mine.

I remember in 2004, when the Democrats lost everything, I remember they had to regroup and figure out how to get back winning again. It was something that we will have to do.

When is Rush going to talk about, and point out all the different planned voter fraud issues?

And of course, there's always "we need a better spokesperson" (i.e., salesperson) for the same old hobby horses.

For a group of self-styled intellectuals, they're strikingly incapable of self-questioning except instrumentally. (I.e., "we need a better [sales pitch].")

That constancy may seem like a strength, but it dovetails well with the finding that conservatives are better at sizing up liberals than liberals are conservatives. They expose a major Achilles' heel: if they drift too far into their own la-la land, they'll wind up being poleaxed in a lasting way. Come the day, they'll fall apart - and a sizable number of them will become outright cranks.

Political realism does have its downside in the shorter term, but it the long run it always wins out.
