Any state the really intends to go better be prepared to fight a civil war to win their freedom. Bracka Clause won’t let taxpayers out of his grasp willingly.

IIRC Thomas Jefferson once penned a hot letter protesting something or other and pointed out that His state could just withdraw from the union if they wanted to.

Anybody else remember this? This part timers memory is getting to be a drag, cause I can’t remember the details.

It seems I also recall New England states once talked about it.

You are wise to pay heed to your fears; we are all experiencing them. It only presents a different question; What’s it worth to you, personally, to take back your country? We all must answer this question as well.

Why are all these people volunteering for the re-education camps?

Quotes, but probably not what you want...

GREAT quotes, nonetheless.

I’m not sure. I saw the 25k limit on some news story about it.

Seems as if these petitioners don’t care at all about the bloody or final sacrifices of our U.S. military Veterans, to protect our American freedoms and way of life, our unity, and our willingness to stand against the tyrants who threaten them.

I think that's overly harsh. These petitions are an expression of frustration by people who don't what to do anymore. They want to save, not destroy, America. They just don't know how.

“...we don’t ever want to win a Presidential election again you may be right..”

If you’ve been paying attention around here...until We the People fix the corrupted vote in the states...our disenfranchisement is probably permanent.

Really? People want to secede from this country because Obama got re-elected? What happened to the spirit of America, where hard work and perseverance under hardship led to success? I'm not signing anything, nor will I advocate for secession because I love this country too much, despite who sits in our legislatures.

I haven't heard many people suggest ways to overcome the difficulties this country is facing, so I'll suggest one. Instead of messages of “I'm leaving this country,” or “Obama sucks” why not get involved more within our local governments and in online forums to better convey our principles? We won't change anyone’s mind if we say they're an idiot for how they voted, no matter how much evidence we give them to the contrary. We must speak of our principles with tact and peace, never drooping to the levels of those with illegitimate arguments, or comments against the person rather than the idea. Speaking about the raw issues America is facing will help us connect better with people. I mean, what do most Americans care about? Is it not having a steady job, a hefty bank account, a safe place to raise their kids, opportunities for advancement and success? One thing this election made me realize — there is no need to wait for us to elect a politician into office for us to start seeing a better America, we have the privilege to do it today with the words we speak and the deeds we do.

And above all, we must have faith in God — He will always be bigger than our country. Thus endeth the sermon.

It is so unlikely that the ruling class centered in Washington would ever permit secession of any state or states. But if the states could begin to work together to create non-cooperation roadblocks, as in defying Obamacare’s implementation, for instance, we might be able to reduce the effective power of the federal government over our daily lives here in red states. We just aren’t going to find a solution at the Presidential or Congressional level because their interests are just not our interests. We are a large country being ruled by a very small country, Washington D.C. If you are going to create any more petitions, make one which demands that Washington be expelled from the country.

I am just curious. what are the guide lines for succession if a state was to do it? I know the civil war had an effect on the process, but did it do away with it all togather. Not saying I want my state to leave the country. is it possible in this day and age though?

The process of secession is simple. The legislature creates articles of secession. The legislature passes them. The Governor signs them.. Them it is put to a state wide referendum. If the people vote in the affirmative then that’s it. They are free of the USA.

“Yes, I am afraid of the Obama administration.”

That’s so sad. Remember what Thomas Jefferson said: “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. But when the government fears the people, there is freedom.”

No - Texas JOINED as a republic but then seceded. After the war we had to come back under the damned yankees conditions.

Yup. Lincoln was a tyrant, no doubt about it. One of the biggest frauds foisted on the American people was that Lincoln was the savior of the United States. The fact is, he was the singlemost influence in setting in motion the ultimate destruction of the United States as a consitutional republic. But then the victors get to write the histories, so there you have it.

I doubt Obama fears anyone. He has no reason to. Congress has not done one thing to stop him and the media gives him their full support. And he can’t run again, so what would he be afraid of?

Well, when you say “succession” instead of “secession” you’ve lost any credibility in any argument you may make.

Obastard, like all socialists, fears one thing - the MSM. They made him and they can destroy him. Right now the love affair seems to be going strong, but it might change. Even whores have their limits.

Your are correct. Texas can leave the Union anytime it pleases and needs no permission from the FedGov
