Big difference between turning of network TV and turning off TV.. there is a ton of crap on Cable far worse than network TV that get millions to watch daily.
Frankly there is very little on network TV I have been able to find palletable for years.
All you have to do to see how far network TV has fallen is just pick any random show from each of the past decades...
Other than “Maude” trying to shove liberalism down america’s throat the 70s were largely innoculous, you could watch nearly any prime time show with the family if you chose.
By the 80s they were still relatively family friendly, but starting to slide.
By 90s forget family shows.
2000 idea of a family friendly prime time show was all but a joke.
Nothing but crass, crude and completely telegraphed attemps at low ball humor on sit coms.. “Reality” tv that has about as much reality in it as a politicians stump speach, and “Dramas” that are little more than soft core porn.
There are hardly any network shows I even remotely try to watch... The Middle and The Simpsons are probably about it for network TV for me. Rest are various cable offerings, when I decide to watch TV.. MythBusters, Doctor Who, Good Eats (yes I know its nothing but reruns, but I never saw them all and while have no desire to ever be a cook, I just cant help but watch this show) Started watching “American Chopper” again after not watching it for a long long time, but probably will remove it from my DVR scheduler soon...
South Park and Archer are 2 adult shows I do watch.
