Well, I honestly have to say I don’t know how I feel on this one.
There is no doubt the GOP did very poorly in 2012. Whether a different guy (or woman) at the helm of the RNC would have made a difference, it’s hard to say. Priebus certainly has been stronger than Michael Steele, in that he was more consistent and far less likely to self-destruct in interviews.
There’s also the question of who we would nominate to replace him. It’s not impossible we could get someone a whole lot worse. Especially if we look solely at rhetoric. Replacing Priebus with the equivalent of a Sharon Angle isn’t going to do the GOP any good.
We have heard this song before when Romney was put at the head of the ticket. You sure you want to dance to that tune again?
Actually we could not have done worse if we tried.
