A week after Hispanic voters helped President Barack Obama win another four years in office, a prominent Minnesota Republican is calling on his party to reform immigration laws so immigrants living in the U.S. illegally can become legal rather than be deported.
Former U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman made his pitch in an opinion piece for the Pioneer Press posted online Thursday, Nov. 15, departing from stances he took five years ago while in office.
Coleman said he believes his evolution on immigration is reflective of many Americans' stance on the issue, and it's time to allow otherwise law-abiding immigrants pathways to citizenship so they can be vocal and visible members of society.

The Illegal Alien problem is that Federal Politicians refuse to enforce the Federal Laws that they have already signed into Law.
The Obama/Rubio nightmare of their ‘Dream Act’ is a perfect example of this fact.
Here is a simple ‘DUH’ list for our yellow-spined Federal Politicians to follow:
1.) Close the US-Mexican Border, tight.
2.) Enforce the existing Federal Laws to deport Illegal Aliens, especially children: “Where the children go, the parents will follow.”
3.) Build photo and fingerprint file on all Illegal Mexican Aliens at the time of deportation.
4.) Build photo and fingerprint files on all other Illegal Aliens at the time of deportation.
5.) After deportation and illegal re-entry, issue automatic, at-the-point-of-capture penalties of existing Federal Laws to any returning illegal aliens, which includes a 6 month jail sentence and a felony charge. This will render them unfit to ever legally re-enter the USA.
6.) Repeat steps 1 through 5.
BTW, the 23 MILLION un- and under employed LEGAL Americans will be very grateful for a return to real jobs and to a return of law and order in America.
Some of the 23 Million would make excellent Border Guards - - - - .

Just last night I used Coleman's defeat by the likes of avowed Communist and play-actor Al Frankin as an example of why the very thing he now recommends won't work.
Few, in the recent past, have been more "accommodating" toward the delusional post-modern "liberal" worldview than Coleman, himself. And he ran for re-election and, no doubt, was called "extreme" by the Democrat-Labor Party in Minnesota regardless, and was apparently defeated by the unstable character actor.
The Democrat familia and their apologists among the legacy media elite will not celebrate Republicans who behave like Democrats. Conservatism is an unchanging respect for immutable truth, a defense of the right to say "two plus two equals four."
IF the border was truly closed and IF some kind of worker status WITHOUT voting rights was created and voting was reformed to stop fraud and if but if but if but....however, none of that will/would happen. Ifs and buts....so you wind up with the same thing over and over.
