Romney Adviser: We Lost Because Far Right Has Taken Party to Place It Doesn’t Belong

Carlos Gutierrez, adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, said Sunday he was “shocked” by Romney’s comments this week on minorities.
“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong.”

Ugh.

CNN reported:

In an interview set to air in full Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley, Gutierrez also sharply criticized Romney’s remarks made on a call Wednesday with donors following his loss in last week’s election. Romney explained his loss in part by pointing to “gifts” President Barack Obama gave to certain groups that turned out in high numbers.

Gutierrez, the former secretary of commerce, said he was “shocked” by Romney’s comments.

“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong,” he said. “We are the party of prosperity, of growth, of tolerance. I mean these immigrants who come across and what they do wrong is they risk their lives, they come here and they work because they want to be part of the American Dream.”

I view it like this, if you're on a boat headed for a waterfall, do you use your hands as a paddle to try and avoid it or do you wait for someone to drop you a motor to turn the boat around?

I view it like this: I don't vote for liberals. Period. Of any party.

Does anyone else see the irony of Candy “Candy-bar” Crowley interviewing him?

I do! Why in the hell does Crowley even have a job after the stunt she pulled? Rattling the papers was a nice touch too. Like she had a copy of the speech in front of her

That twit Charles Lane of the Washington Compost said today on Fox News Sunday that "Obama said in the debates that Benghazi was a terrorist attack". The lying puke.

And of course no one challenged him on it. I sent Wallace an email and a tweet about it and told him to act like a journalist instead of a game show host.

Exactly!

One thing I really think needs to happen is we need to get back control of our schools. For too long we have allowed the liberals to scrub out all the correct info about America; instead teaching our children that we’re the most horrible country on the earth.

With the re-election of O, it will be more difficult, but I’ve seen evidence that more and more families are starting to homeschool their children; especially Christian families.

Lord, I can’t keep silent in the face of such stupidity
from the Gope.

We lost because the most dynamic, conservative, plain
spoken candidate, Sarah Palin was shut out by the party
after she took all the slime and arrows the Rats could
throw at her and single handedly saved McCain from the
worst trouncing a candidate could get.

Baaaah, Gope and that stands for dope.

Grrrrrrrrrr.

Time to use the same trick the Abolitionists used to found the Republican party ~ simply create a NEW REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE and invite existing compatible state parties or organizations to send delegates. They picked up both Abolitionist organizations AND State WHIG Party organizations intact!

I think we could pick up enough state Republican organizations at the get go to totally delete the current RNC and it's GOP-e cronies from any sort of authority.

With that loser Preibus running for RNC chairman again and claiming he's already got enough committee member votes to win, we might even schedule the NEW RNC to convene the same day, in the same place ~ even if only a hotel room ~ and bring in current RNC national committee members ~ but only those who are acceptable to this being a Conservative Party!

BS. Polling for abortion is getting better and better for our side. It is one area we are actually winning hearts and minds. We are coming into a majority on the life issue. No reason to retreat when you’re winning. Unless you’re the GOP-e, of course.

Yes, we did have some candidates who were not prepared on the issue. The talking point is so simple a five year old could memorize and repeat it. Don’t go into the weeds. Every life is valuable and has meaning before God, you have a right to live, from God, no matter how you came into being. Period. Answer every “trick” question with that one answer, and there’s nothing they can do with it.

Then turn the tables on them. Ask them why they have a “War on Babies.” Watch them squirm and get flustered for a change. Express obvious joy in putting them on the defensive. Free speech is a powerful weapon for freedom. Would that we had just a few on our side who knew how to use it even remotely well.

Spoken like a good RINO.............

Sadly, he may be right.

If you've noticed, thinking in the world is up side down, and we didn't get here over night.

It took the lefties a long time to get us where we are now, and it isn't going to change over night.

Anytime we can reverse that step in the opposite direction is a good step, and it is going to take a long time. And that means we have to win one battle at a time

Or we could just go to war....

I don’t believe they stayed home. I believe that we were closer than we have been led to believe. Voter fraud on the left was enormous and was not challenged. They were paying illegals to vote and voting machines were defaulting mostly to Obama. There is no telling how close the race really was.

I view it like this: I don't vote for liberals. Period. Of any party.

And you're entitled to that opinion.

Enjoy the consequences.

The base always needs to be fed with the registrations of new voters.

That wasn't part of the Rombot campaign ~ so he lost.

Enjoy the consequences.

Way to blame a conservative for not voting for your liberal.

It certainly doesn't change my position that I won't vote for any liberal.

It does encourage me to further loathing of liberal supporters in the GOP.

Carlos, you lost because you are a loser. Nobody wants a squishy loser. I would rather vote for Democrats than throw my vote away voting for these clowns.

Fur Shur you don't lighten the boat because that's going to totally eliminate your opportunity to go aground on the rocks just before the falls ~

Your simile doesn't make your point BTW.

As I said above, these people are the problem.

Their ‘logic’ makes everything a tradeoff. They wanted to trade a potentially improving economy for things like more mainstreaming of the gay movement. easier access to govt funded abortion and the rest. Because regardless of what he said on the trail, Romney’s history on these matters is rock solid liberal.

And here they are blaming people like us for not going along with them. Because we are not willing to trade our morals and principles.

I am perfectly comfortable going to bed at night unwilling to sell out my soul.

And people wonder why conservatives are sick of having a moderate jammed down our throats to the tune of “where else are you gonna go?”

I wonder what tune they would be singing if the entire “right wing” of the Party stayed home and didn’t vote at all?

They'd be called 'traitors' by the Mittwits on FR. Remember, to some people all that matters is 'voting for the R'.

Basically I refer to it as being a “baby eater” ~ leftwingtards don’t get flustered by it ~ they are mystified by it ~ and try to ignore it.
