President Obama on Sunday defended his trip to Burma, insisting that the visit Monday is “not an endorsement” of the nation’s long-repressive leadership but rather an acknowledgment that the country is making progress toward reform.

“I don’t think anybody is under any illusion that Burma has arrived, that they’re where they need to be,” Obama said at a joint news conference with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to begin his three-country Asia trip.

President Obama arrived in Thailand on Sunday on his first foreign trip since winning a second term. His visit is designed to expand the U.S. economic and military footprint in the Asia-Pacific region. 0.

The guy just won one the biggest elections in American history, Why should he stick around in such a depressing place like Washington, DC, where there's nothing but bad news all around. It's time to party, celebrate his victory over America, the American people, go on a whirlwind tour at the taxpayers' cost just Air Force One alone costs $750,0000 an hour to fly. What better, more enjoyable way to rack up the deficit then with an entourage of over 100 people, press, staff, etc who don't pay a dime??

Besides, he says his trip to Burma is not an endorsement of the nation's long repressive leadership. He's just going to learn how he can do the same here in the US.

You remind me of the post yesterday written rather sarcastically on whether the President had plans on bailing out Hostess Bakeries, and their most favorite product, Twinkies. I wrote the President love dem Twinkies. The younger the better.

Caught a quick shot of him trying to walk all “presidential”. Then he folded his hands and leaned them forward while greeting some Asian woman. He looked like a total ass out of his element. Looked like a school boy trying to remember the pointers someone gave him on how to act. It was funny to watch

“It was funny to watch”

Before you laugh, remember that he is the commander-in-chief of the world’s most powerful military in history, and he will hold that post for the next four years.

What a pile of crap. He is in Burma, now known as Myanmar, for one reason only, and that is to stand up for muslims. Myanmar has a problem with islam, who doesn’t. And Bambam is there to help those poor repressed muzzies.

kinda like he stands up for the Copts in Egypt. Oh wait.....

Burma..Myanmar. Maybe a good example who a dictatorship can be a pathway to democracy without a new violent revolution. Another case where brutal dictators kept even worse guys under control and got the wheels back on.
Not a PC route, but one that seems to have worked in Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore and somewhat Thailand.
AS for Zero’s visit..he is just taking a victory lap for something he had nothing to do with. I’m sure he will get in some licks about the persecuted muslim minorities in the very Buddhist country.
He should be at home in conference with the Congress..but travel is more fun.

Reasons for the trip....

1) Getting out of town while the ME melts down.

2) Getting out of town and away from the Benghazi/Petreaus meltdown.

3)Going to where Hillary is to make sure she is on the same page re number two...she did not come to him.

I know. I know. I’m trying to forget. I’ve been in a state of depression since the election and don’t know if I can handle the next four years. I pray every day for some kind of divine intervention.

Obama is gonna learn in his second term that not many will be willing to listen to a country who's economy and military are being deconstructed.

What is he gonna threaten them with?

Idiot. He's disarming himself.
