This letter is written in such a fashion as to suggest that the GOP was going to do something other than give the democrats everything they want.
The only possible deviation form that would be for the GOP to give the democrats more than what they want.
Forget about the GOP. It is a vestigial organ. Any time spent on what to do with it or how to fix it is akin to attempting to find a purpose and function for the human appendix.

Don’t waste your time. The GOP isn’t interested in anything but keeping a cushy job in D.C.
The Republicans need to use all of their floor time to proclaim over and over again that they will not obstruct the Democrat plans at all, nor will they support them. The elected Republicans, en masse, need to simply vote ‘present’ and let the Dems push through whatever legislation they want for the next year and a half. Ant the end of that time, they’ll have the perfect campaign strategy for winning the mid-terms: “We tried it their way for 18 months straight and look what it got us. Now vote the Socialists out and let the grown-ups show you the right way to do things.”
Rinse and repeat for the 2016 election cycle if needed.
