The Food-Stamp Crime Wave http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304657804576401412033504294.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop

From the USDA website :

“Thirty-five states have abolished asset test” sounds like you can have a home and lot, but not more than $2,000 (or $3,000) in a bank account.

“Households may have $2,000 in countable resources, such as a bank account, or $3000 in countable resources if at least one person is age 60 or older, or is disabled. However, certain resources are NOT counted, such as a home and lot..”

So just go spend down your bank account and buy some 22” spinner rims for your Escalade, and you’ll be fine.

I see these heifers in WalMart all the time. Their buggies are jam-packed full. The milk, butter, bread, eggs, cereal and cheese are all WICs certificates. No charge.

The rest is a collection of the biggest set of junk food and easy-lazy food prep items one could imagine. Cheese doodles, chips, ribs, hamburger (lots), nachos, hot dogs, macaroni, Frozen Pizza, frozen chicken wings, any kind of quick junk food you could imagine. It is why these lazy ass girls are so fat.

None of them will EVER work again! It’s why the vote for Obama. Section 8 rent (they won’t call it Section 8 anymore because it ‘stigmatizes’ so they call it ‘housing vouchers’), TANF - more EBT charge up money in addition to SNAP, Heating assistance, free telephone, EITC for when they actually claim over $600 for babysitting, etc. (nets up to $4-5K free and clear if they file). The sad part is the children they use to maximize their booty. They will grow up just like them.

This country won’t last 50 years with the likes of these.

I saw a blurb about a breakdown of a welfare queen compared to a working man with a family of four in MS making $45-50K/year.

The welfare queen actually had more spendable income with all the federal programs that threw money at her vs. the poor working man. This is disgusting. She should be in prison and ‘fixed’.

Ok. I haven’t posted in a long time, though I’ve been lurking.

I lost my job in June. Since I didn’t have much savings, and I knew the miserable state of the economy, and that I probably wouldn’t find a job very quickly (my field is one of the worst to be in right now), we signed up for food stamps right away. I can say from my experience that the statement in the article you’re citing is complete garbage. It’s the height of journalistic dishonesty. We’ve never had more money to spend on food than we’ve had since going on food stamps. It’s not only well over 1.25 per meal, and not only adequate, it’s luxurious.

I’m not naive about the media’s lies but I’m shocked by that paragraph. That number has to be completely made up. Most higher income people won’t know how much food stamps provide, and most food stamp recipients won’t reveal what suckers people who pay for their own food are.

All one would have to do is look at how fat virtually all food stamp users are.

$1.25? Raaaaaaght...

Is that why those paying taxes for the foodstamps are in line with their hamburger helper
waiting for those with the EBT card in front of them to purchase their steak and shrimp?

A $1.25 average price per meal is quite good ... when you figure that your typical Breakfast and Lunch fall well below that amount leaving a good amount for Dinner.

Breakfast , 2 eggs ($0.30) , juice (6 oz. ,, $0.20) , bagel ($0.20)
Lunch , PB&J , bread $0.08 , PB $0.15 , Jelly $0.15 , milk 8oz. $0.22
total so far $1.30 ,, @ $1.25/meal that means $2.45 for dinner ..
Dinner ,, 2 chicken legs ($0.60) rice ($0.10), can of veggies ($0.59)

Besides Food Stamps are “supplemental” nutrition .. they aren’t meant to be your entire food budget..
