Hey! Whatever it takes for the commie piggies to steal more of our money. Why not tax shoes too! Everybody wears shoes! What’s in YOUR wallet?
Just what is "Economic Stasis"? Does that mean the country is stopped dead in its tracks and is dying of malnutrition? Economic stasis is exactly what they have in such workers paradises' as Cuba, Venezuela, California, Detroit and pretty soon Chicago.
Let’s tax politicans. Say, $10/word for each regulation enacted, and $10/word for each law passed plus $100k/law and $100k/law refund for every law revoked. A fee of 100k per elected term, doubled for every re-election - cummulative regardless of where it is a new elected position or the same one. Each year, a renewal tax is levied of $1/word for every law and $1/word for every regulation still in effect. If the politican cannot pay, he is jailed in maximum security prision for the duration of his term.
That's right with enough taxation we'll never have hurricanes, tornadoes, floods or any other adverse weather again.
Eff this dumba..
Hey, taxing snacks is a good idea. I’m guessing Obama voters are the ones consuming most of the junk food snacks. Perhaps this will awaken them.
Maybe not.
The scumbag Democrats are relentless in their efforts to confiscate more and more money (and liberty) from America’s working producers so they always have more than enough to buy the votes of their party’s growing base of moochers.
Let's tax Isflamist fat wads.
I would like to buy a ticket to book passage on Titanic II for this assclown.
Whenever one of these birds proposes yet another tax, we should counter by calling for the creation of a Democrat tax.
1) It would apply only to registered Democrats, which makes sense, as they are the ones always bleating for more spending.
2) It should have no exemptions or “loopholes”, so all Democrats would have to pay, whether they were wealthy bankers or on welfare.
3) It should be a very progressive tax, so that Democrats who earn more than $100,000 should be in the 70% bracket, those earning more than $200,000 should be in the 80% bracket, and those earning more than $250,000 should be in the 90% bracket.
4) It should apply to all earnings of Democrats, should include capital gains on their earnings, a value added tax on their earnings, a carbon and green tax, inheritance and estate tax. And if none of those apply, then an alternative minimum tax.
I happened to see a YT vid made by a college girl from NJ where she was driving thru the Sandy damage and doing commentary. She said "we have to stop global warming, we learned in high school that this was going to happen."
There's a LOT of work to do....
Let’s have states impose a 99¢ bookkeeping fee for every dollar in federal revenue they send to Washington. Then next seize all federal property under the Kelo decision to pay for obamacare. Finally, appoint a State Overlord of Bureaucracy to write reams of rules that regulate the actions of all federal bureaucrats in states. Each rule, which will be written in ancient Pict, will change from moment to moment, depending on the Overlord’s mood, and fines will begin at $1 billion per violation, per hour.
If taxing stuff causes there to be less of it, then why do we tax wealth and income?
Let’s just cut to the chase and let the Republicans can propose a 100% income bracket starting at $250k. Obama and friends would then be forced to explain why they will not raise taxes on “the wealthy.”
I am very impressed that Larry Summers and his ilk can pretend that a “carbon tax” is something new without actually laughing in our faces. Anyone notice how much “carbon tax” you pay on every gallon of gasoline?
When they say “carbon tax”, what they mean is:
“let’s raise excise tax rates to infinity”;
“let’s expand the list of taxed items infinitely, so we can micromanage every business and control the entire economy”;
“let’s rip the last pennies from the pockets of working and middle class families, so we can redistribute them to our dependency voters”.
US “greenhouse gas” emissions could be cut almost in half by simply encouraging production and use of natural gas, which is cheaper than oil anyway. But why solve a “problem” when it can be used for political purposes?
I heard a great progressive admission recently. The man was describing the virtues of Cap and Trade.
The tax on carbon is paid by fuel users. Those are actually producers who pass the tax onward to customers on a per usage basis. That is everyone pays, even kids.
That means Cap and Trade is actually a scheme to extract taxes from those now paying no income taxes. The once removed payment device provides political cover and deniability for raising taxes on the poor. It can be argued that Cap and trade is in fact a fair tax in that everyone pays on the basis of energy consumption
I’m so sick of these clowns like Summers!
FULS!!!!
I found some of the replies on this thread to be not only entertaining, but instructive. Even though some may be hyperbolic or sarcastic in intent, their impact (as implemented in my fantasy world) would actually address the *real* problems.
dismal science bump for later...
