With the result of the Nov. 6 election being what it was, it is pretty clear a cap-and-trade tax is just around the corner. The cap-and-trade tax is a tax on the production of carbon dioxide. This will affect primarily the energy-producing industries. They will, in turn, undoubtedly pass the tax down to the consumer. The price of electricity should skyrocket, and gasoline prices are estimated to increase by at least 20 cents a gallon. This will bring the United States in line with the rest of the world, which, obviously, the citizens of this country (well, at least half of them) want.
The previous attempt to pass a cap-and-trade tax failed, but emboldened by the outcome of the election, the government simply will get the Environmental Protection Agency to do the dirty deed, claiming it is needed to stop climate change. These are the same clear-thinking individuals who declared a few years back that atmospheric CO2 is a pollutant, evidently not knowing the level of CO2 in the atmosphere is critical, since it regulates the acidity of our blood. Change the acidity of our blood by just a small amount and we are cooked. I am sure you have heard of people who have panic attacks and are encouraged to breathe into paper bags. This raises the level of CO2 in their blood. Failure to do so evidently would cause them harm.
The human brain puts out about the same power as a 40-watt light bulb, not very bright. When I wrote my book on global warming, I entitled it "Global Warming for Dim Wits," because I knew I would not be bright enough to find an approach that would convince people CO2 cannot be responsible for climate change, and the public would not be bright enough to understand what I was trying to tell them. When I try to convince people that CO2 (man-made or otherwise) cannot cause significant global warming once its level reaches about 250 ppm in the atmosphere, all they tell me is that there is a consensus of scientists who believe otherwise.
Look around you. Does the last election tell you anything about the value the majority of voters place on Freedom? I see few willing to take personal responsiblity and suffer the consequences for their actions or decisions. We are victims of our own success. A success that has sheltered us from pain that is necessary for a healthy society.
Global Warming isn’t the issue. Carbon is not the issue. It is never about the issue, it is only about power and control.
Its about eliminating the rural vote and herding us into socialist enclaves (cities). Making gas and electricity expensive negates the cheaper real estate of country living.
This is already happening here in SoCal, via the electricity company (SoCal Edison) and the water company (Golden State Water Co)— monthly bills are outrageous and climbing. Rate increases are requested virtually monthly and are granted via the rubber stmping CPUC which is part of the conspiracy designed to impoverish the middle class. All part of UN Agenda 21 which has been incorporated into state legislation here in California.
Cant have a gloBULL one world government with gun totting freedom nuts living out in the sticks.
Carbon: 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons.
666 the number of the beast.
“If you establish that the government has jurisdiction over carbon, you have given government a blank check for total power over everything. “
Food, energy, housing, education, health care, and clothing. The necessities of 21st century life. Government has a stranglehold on education, is wrapping its arms around housing, and with Obamacare implemented in 2014 will have a lock on health care. The regulatory war on coal is having its desired result as the coal industry shuts down. Carbon taxes will give them control over the rest of the energy industry.
Oh Really? Such is the big government progressive mindset...
I was not aware we were a Democracy but rather a Republic; nor, that we elected an Emperor executive but rather an executive that comprises but one third of a LIMITED federal governmental authority.
Are they going to stop the tides with a regulation? Repeal the Law of Gravity?
Just as likely as stopping any climate change, and there hasn't been any "global warming" for over a decade.
All this solves is letting Algore and Soros cash in on the tons of wothless carbon credits they bought up, and it could bring them Trillion$ of Dollar$.
It's all about the money.
“plenty of non-geezers . . “
Oh, I know it. We have a few of those in our family; fortunately, we don’t have to be around them too much.
