Each year, the Grambling State University Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars get together to compete in the State Farm Bayou Classic. On Saturday, the 39th annual football game unfolded, with Southern winning 38-33. While the game likely exited a great many, it was the halftime show that distinguished itself as particularly memorable. The victorious school’s marching band coordinated themselves to spell out “Obama” on the field — an action that was noted by both supporters and critics of the president, alike.

This is the game that the New Orleans hotels and downtown businesses all hate, because of the ticketholders' behavior. Businesses near the Superdome often close early to allow their female employees to leave before the crowd gathers.

Yup, both of those teams suck. There is no way that game would be on national TV on a Saturday afternoon unless they were both “traditionally black colleges”! Of course, it’s only ok for them to refer to themselves as “traditionally black”. If anyone else does, they’re racist!

So glad I live in a somewhat rural area. When I do go into our nearby small town, nearly all of the black people I meet there are just as respectful of me as I am of them. There does seem to be one pastor in town in my age group — boomer — who, therefore, remembers the days of racial segregation and seems to want to keep the resentment going. But I don’t know how big his congregation is or how much influence he has.

I happened to be in NOLA this weekend. Saturday was Thug Day. It was awful. We did not visit the Quarter that evening.
Why not, they are getting free stuff. They are also myopic and uneducated. With community organizers all over the place they are easily fooled into voting rat.
I found out this morning that there is an “Obama Christ” webpage. If a person joins the “Church of Obama Christ” and gives 10% of their monthly pre-tax income to this “church” they will be saved by “Obama Christ”. All others will be destroyed.
What and improvement it would be for the NFL to have some traditional collegiate half time shows instead of garbage like Madonna or the rapping peas.
